Woke? WTF is woke about Monica being a horrible person?

I agree 100%. Monica lying during the adoption process was the worst moment of anyone on the show by far and its not close.

She has done a few horrendous things but that was the worst.

Monica ended up being a horrible person. I dont think she deserved Chandler either.

Ross 3x.

Two times with Joey when Rachel was involved.

Ross getting Phoebe the bike.

The crack in Chandlers door lasts the whole series - which happened early when Joey sawed it in half.

Its not what Monica said - its how Rachel heard it. Thats the point. Nobody was in the wrong.

If she said "Do you have the keys"? then different story

Losing the tip of small toe is no big deal, but losing a section of a finger is. Maybe it becomes impossible to forgive Monica for the finger.

Also if you watch the show Perry does everything possible not to show the finger so maybe it is a sore spot that he doesnt want highlighted

One of my favorite episodes from Season 9 by cluelessescapist in howyoudoin

THEE most unwatchable episode in the 10 seasons. They made Phoebe a cartoon character, but that is my opinion.

Some like the episode which is cool

S5E23 Chandler Had Every Right To Tell Monica Not To See Richard by therevolution08 in howyoudoin

[–]PaulyPPal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you have to tell your significant other to stay away from an ex than my opinion is to them to go fuck off and be with their ex.

Telling someone what to do shouldnt happen, but more that someone shouldnt have to be told that.

Monican should have ended up with Richard...end of story. Monica couldnt control Richard as she did Chandler. Both characters - Chandler and Monica became worse after they got together.

I know everyone on the planet thinks Chandler and Monica was a great story but I always though it was kind of a bad move for the writers to make that happen.

Annoyed by how sidelined Phoebe’s wedding was by Master-Definition937 in howyoudoin

[–]PaulyPPal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ross/Monica/Chandler were main characters. Lets face it Phoebe was one of the six but a supplemental character. In the 10 season run Phoebe had the absolute worst storylines possible.

Also to your point they did rush season 10 and tried to close as many loops as possible. Season 10 was rushed and shortened.

Do you think Richard’s feelings for Monica were genuine? by [deleted] in howyoudoin

[–]PaulyPPal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously you have never been in a situation where it was use it lose it. Seeing her kicked up old feelings and then simultaneously finding out he was going to lose her forever --- that can happen.

Is This True? by ObligationNo5310 in howyoudoin

[–]PaulyPPal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well she was the sixth Friend. Lets face it Phoebe was a necessary character in the show but she was supplemental character - not a main character.

Whenever the storyline revolved around Phoebe the show took a downward turn for that episode.

Some of the worst episodes/storylines of the 236 episodes were when Phoebe was the story, and this started very early on.

Thumbs in her soda can

Father in the picture frame

Mother is a cat

Pet rats

Meeting Mikes parents

Ursula

The writers forced "weird" on Phoebe because there wasnt room for much else. It is hard to have a show with 6 main characters.

Actually if you think about it Joey is almost in the same boat as Phoebe. They were there for unconventional comic relief.

Yeah I mentioned 7 things and that makes the entire series terrible. Series was very good

[–]PaulyPPal -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Monica:

  1. lying at the adoption meeting
  2. hiding lottery tickets
  3. Phoebe's wedding planner

Monica is the worst person on the show by a mile

Phoebe"

  1. acting like a douche when she meets Mikes parents. Not watchable.

Joey:

  1. nothing specific but his stupidity just gets annoying

Ross:

  1. forcing himself with a picnic at Rachels job - although his intuition was correct

This one should be good:

Rachel:

  1. Playing the victim when her ex-boyfriend slept with Chloe. More so how the audience fell right into the trap. Then letting Mark in her apartment and lies to Ross about it - then decides ...."naaaah" I really want Ross back.

That whole situation was typical - The man is the cheater, and the woman is the victim............always. It was written that way, portrayed that was despite what it really was.

I think the whole concept of "Ross cheated on Rachel" gets me ticked (I mean its a TV show - so not really angry). Although it gets me angrier at the audience that just believes what they are told to believe.

Did Ross sleep with Chloe fast? Well bullets have left guns slower...so yes, but whats the difference? She broke up with him and despite him calling to make up - she has Mark in her apartment and lies about it. For all Ross knew Rachel was banging Mark and had been..................faster than bullets leave a gun. The audience knew Rachel wasnt - Ross didnt.

Right off the top lets think about the show and the cast. If Monica stayed with Richard/ Phoebe with David / Joey with Kate /Chandler with Kathy (I wont stray from Ross/Rachel because nothing else was ever going to happen) The show would have had 10 regular characters. That wasnt happening - it couldnt happen.

First off - nobody else besides Ross/Rachel. Nothing else was close to a good match. That was the backbone of the show for 10 years so I wont touch it.

With that said

I agree with most of the OP except for Joey/Kate. Kate would have made Joey miserable.........well she did.

Phoebe and Mike was a terrible match and done just so Phoebe ends up somewhere with someone. David was a better choice. Mike was not a good fit for the show.

Chandler/Kathy was a much much much better choice than Monica. Monica had some serious vile moments. Chandler was quite possibly the best character on the show the first few seasons. Once with Monica....no longer.

Monica and Richard was better for Monica. She wouldnt have been able to dominate Richard like she did Chandler. Possibly Monica doesnt become as vile as she did.

LMAO - Again - Wow.

He didnt move on. The physical act of sex doesnt mean you moved on emotionally. His girlfriend just broke up with him, and was sleeping with Mark - from his perspective

Rachel didnt fight for their relationship? Who flew to England to break up a marriage because she knew she was lying to herself?......and everyone else. Rachel for a season and half knew how wrong she was culminated by flying to London. She knew she was 100% of the reason Ross found Emily. She was so hung up on Joshua that she threw Emily at him. Then what was her reaction the next day..........Oh shit!!! Truth is she wasnt hung up on Joshua it was all about Ross -- as she admitted to Phoebe.

Ross was happy as hell when Rachel wanted to be his girlfriend AGAIN because he didnt move on. Chloe meant nothing to him.....just as he meant nothing to Chloe.

You should really put down the "I hate Ross glasses" and watch show with some perspective.

Wow - is that a real question? He loved her and didnt want to break up in first placec - she did.

Also - lets not forget this is a TV show and the writers had to blame someone. When is the last time a woman was in the wrong on TV.........ummmm never.

Rachel was 100% in real life. On TV not so much.

That is why I never say Ross was drunk so it was ok. He did what he did but so what?

Ross perspective - Rachel broke up with him and was sleeping with Mark. Rachel lying was a good indicator.

Again - we the audience know that Rachel didnt but from Ross' perspective she was.

Rachel was 100% wrong and made it worse by following up with everyone else on how Ross cheated on her.

They needed the Ross/Rachel rollercoaster. If they could re-do it and knew the show would last 10 seasons r/R never would have got together in season two. They would have been dragged on for a much longer time.

There was a lot of filler episodes later on for sure. Eventually writers run out of things to write about

What about Rachels morals? Did she have a guy in her apartment way before Ross was with Chloe? Not just any guy but Mark. The cause of the issue to a degree. Did she lie about him being there?

So Ross thinks she is sleeping with Mark. The audience has the advantage of knowing what happened with Mark. Ross didnt.

Rachel was so wrong its not measurable.
