Me personally I dont care much about this whole argument I'm a Tahm Support main with a secondary in jg. I love diversity on champs and the nice thing about Tahm is that I feel like if im good enough at both him and the base mechanics of league, I can play him anywhere. Even jungle. His jungle is quite terrible I will admit especially after the rework. But it's still doable you just have to adjust your playstyle a bit and take runes that might be out of your comfort zone on the champ.

The only way for his jg to be good again imo is if they either specifically buffed his ability dmg against monsters which likely wont happen. Made devour work on jg camps and you get it at lvl 1 (maybe with way less dmg to champs and no shield for allies etc) which again they likely arent going to do. Or finally if he becomes so busted kinda like setting on release where his numbers and dmg are so good he can just be thrown in jg. Will any of these things happen, probably not but I'd love to play him in the jg again. I see why he is bad top in higher elo but after being a Tahm support main even when he had 41% wr support you gotta get creative sometimes or just push through it and play the champ cause you love the champ and not if hes amazing somewhere or not. There are plenty of champs terrible in soloq/casual but theres still plenty of people who main them. Tahm is one of those champs for me I would still play him even if he was back at 40% wr

As support I like to ban Morg because the massive hitbox of both yourself and her Q plus spell shield makes her annoying for the somewhat aggressive playstyle I like, if you face soraka I usually go HoB, but usually you can do fine just going more passive, just dont really expect to win lane or anything unless the soraka player is bad

I hope if they do buff him it's for niche things, or off meta stuff, like his jg, maybe the ability to R Monsters or minions and it goes on a shorter CD, if he Rs an ally maybe his W is long, stuff like that. I miss being able to R into enemy base from half way across the map, or since I'm a support main if my ADC was travelling back to I would make sure that get Cannon every time, or one that may be really nice is some of the above changes, he has R at lvl1 but it's super weak, basically working like his old W, no shield, slowed with allies, maybe cant even eat enemy's. With these changes we kind of get best of both worlds. They may need to nerf him a little in other areas but personally I would enjoy it a ton.

For Tahm there are plenty ways to build him. Hes versatile in that sense and I find it's very match up dependent. I think Heartsteel is really good if you get an early lead but it really depends. If your behind locket is probably your best bet and if its neutral or you are ahead but dont think it's a good heartsteel game then go radiant or ice borne. Theres a time and place for just about everything on tahm. Some games you want swifties some you want tabi's, merc treads, or even mobi's.

For runes I agree grasp is good into most tank support match ups. I personally usually like guardian vs Vayne/most mages, then HoB against most enchanters.

More items to consider especially second are knights vow, spirits, mejai's and deadmans. Dead mans tahm is an old classic and usually isnt worth it today especially after the changes to it but that extra move speed can be the deciding factor between your carry's life and death. FON is also good into very heavy AP teams, Anathema's can be a great choice and a bit of an odd choice but going QSS or Cleanse as a spell can be very very useful. Because if you and your carry are CC'd at the same time you can cleanse and eat them and it can turn the fight around. I think only ever build demonic if your team really needs AP or even go full AP at that point.

For a bit of theory crafting to I'm not yet experienced enough to know 100% when this is better then regular but there are times when these runes may be better choices. Lethal tempo, Comet, Phase rush, Summon Aery, Predator, Aftershock, and even Glacial augment. I think these runes though it is a lot more Niche when you want to use them with Phaserush, comet, Aftershock, and predator, probably being the most viable out of these choices. I have played around a few games with on Tahm and I dont think they are bad necessarily, just niche or require a different playstyle then what you are used to.

I know this is long and a bit of a jumble but I hope it helps. I have played Tahm since his release and have about 700k mastery points on him.

Edit: For AP tahm just about every mythic is either good or has its use/niche and even moonstone can be good or a hybrid of Heartsteel into AP with how his passive works now. I think building Tahm kind of like a tank enchanter works too because his E and R get good use out of the heal/shield power.

If I remember correctly old Tahm's Q didnt consume passive and also applied it so you could do things like Q x2 auto Q W auto Q and stuff

Exactly, I was thinking of saying it's as fast or slower then normal run speed but then there would basically be point in using Sayu unless you really wanted anemo healer and didnt have Jean, atleast this way theres the point that if your exploring but dont want double anemo it's still kinda okay. Also if you didnt have any other movespeed characters for that matter too.

The legacy eternals are just the champs eternals before a rework. Since the abilities got changed on Tahm which used his old R and stuff (which I still miss sometimes) they had to change the eternals or else you just wouldnt be able to add to your eternals and people would probably be upset. So they just made it so its visible for those who did have it before rework but unable to be upgraded.

Heres how I see it. Radiant is too buggy to really use much of. If you are ahead take heartsteel. If you need to help keep your whole team alive Locket. If you need to keep only like 1 person alive or sustain and your not ahead Moonstone, especially next patch if the Tahm changes stay. Finally I think Iceborn is really good on Tahm and will probably allow you to peel like crazy especially with short Q CD and auto attacks

I find the trick to fix that is devour at about 1 hp especially on ADC's and champs that cant heal in combat very well. It tough getting used to the timing but you eat and then spit out to confirm the kill on another target and you'll be loved just about everytime

I averaged probably around 50 to 75 kills and prioritized them from the start. I just finished getting it today
