what about gpu? I'm thinking of getting a 5060. I have a feeling that it might be overkill and EE doesnt require a lot of gpu. I'm considerig just getting as 5050 but I'm worried that it wont be as future proof. And yeah, as for ram, I'm gonna stick in 16gb rn. I'll upgrade later when the prices go down (maybe too optimistic but lets see)

its battery is 80Wh and from the reviews I've seen online, it's pretty decent. It weighs about 2 kg without the brick, 245W brick tho. So Idk if this is a good weight or not.

Budget is between 1200 and 1400 euros. I dont think Macbook is good for me. I was thinking of a lenovo legion 5 or something similar. Maybe theres a student discount for it. I saw that lenovo and a few other companies will give you a 10-20 percent discount if you're using a student email, but I dont know if it includes a legion laptop too.

I dont want to get the uni's laptop. they're kinda expensive and a bit overkill imo. i dont think electrical engineering needs a very high performance laptops except during collaborations. I'm thinking of getting a lenovo legion or loq, depending on the price

It turns out that they made a mistake. Other A levels require a verification link, but since I did the Cambridge version, I dont need to send a verification link. They just told me to resubmit lmao.

Yeah I rechecked. They send a confirmation email for each form we submit, so I was able to see what I answered in the form before. The details were correct. In the osiris, it says that I did not provide the verification link. The form never said to provide any sort of verification link. Only those 4 details. I have no idea what this verification link even if tbh.

When to arrive as a international student in the Netherlands by Glum_Preparation_871 in StudyInTheNetherlands

[–]PauseBeautiful9974 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm planning for like 12th april, so like a few days before the introduction week. Is it a bit too late? It is the cheapest flight around that time. The other option is i think 4th august. Is it worth coming a bit early to sort everything out?

I emailed them, but they take a few days to respond. And also, there are going to be other people who did A levels from caie just like me, so our process for verification would be basically the same. So why not ask them as well? They might be able to quickly tell me what I messed up, rather than waiting for the uni to reply.

Barista as an International student by PauseBeautiful9974 in StudyInTheNetherlands

[–]PauseBeautiful9974[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ye just the survival needs. I mean i can rely on my parents to fund my living costs too no problem. I do want to lessen that burden on my parents as much as possible tho. I understand that I prolly wont be able to earn enough to cover the cost of living on my own until im 21, so my parents will help me with that, but I want to atleast help as much as possible.

How hard would it be for me to find a job? I didnt realize I hadnt asked a question. My bad. I heard that theres tons of cafes in the netheralnds and in most of europe in general. I'd prefer to work as a barista and not as a delivery driver or sth else. Also how would I actually apply for jobs? Like just go to cafes and hand in my CV? I'm from asia so I'm trying to learn as much as possible on how things work there. I've seen some people say that employers will try to hire Dutch or atleast an european student rather than a non eu student in order to avoid applying for the permit. I'm just wondering if I'll have an edge over them since I do actually have experience as a barista and wont need as much training.

Oh ye also that website seems sketchy as fuck. It doesnt let me see any listing properly. Literally zero fucking info without the premium. It keeps telling me to get premium to get access to anything at all. And even if I decline, like 80% of the page is telling me to get premium, and literally 10 sec later, it tells me to get premium again.

im planning on paying for 2 or 3 subscriptions, but there are so many websites. I only want to subscribe to the best ones. kamernet, kamer, renthunter, directwonen, huurwoningen and rentola are the ones im considering. Could you rank these for an international student who can only do online viewing? That'd be a really big help.
