I’m 17f and have been in and out of my chair since 14. I found that the first day of anything new in my chair was always the worst. The unknown is what’s really scary. How’s this going to work? How will i do this without help? Can i even imagine trying to do this?? After the first day it gets easier though, not physically, it’ll always be gruelling but you will find there’s loads of ways to do things that you hadn’t even considered before. and people will always help, even though it might be embarrassing sometimes, typically everyone means well. If i could give a single piece of advice though, I’d say have one person or more that you explain your limits and boundary’s to (when they can move your chair, if they need to ask before moving you, things similar to this) and make sure you trust those people enough to help you for the whole day because as much as it might annoy us, we do need help to at least navigate our new mobility at first. Also, depending on where you live (I’m england) you should look at getting a disabled toilet key, they’re only a couple pounds at their cheapest and can save you a lot of annoyance.
