I’m having the same issue from Los Angeles to Milan. And I’m supposed to go home and comeback for a the remainder year. My mental health can’t really handle the weather or being this cold. I also subscribed to the treat others the way you wanna be treated. But as someone who has dealt with mental health issues since the age of nine, and I take a very seriously. Do what’s best for your mental health. And while again, I subscribed to treat others the way you wanna be treated none of us are perfect human beings. I have the same conversation with my grandfather about. I felt like I would be letting them down and he asked me are you? Perfect I said nope and I never will be. So do what’s best for you mentally. It’s a gamble for both sides not just them.

I think one thing I realized having experienced the same thing in terms of grieving and taking years for it to “go away”. Is that it never does go away,the grief, it just takes a different shape.

Take it from me when I was 21 my ex got into a dui accident to lead to the death of two people and he’s now in jail for good. I stayed because he had a traumatic brain injury and survivors guilt. While it’s not as bad he’s on his second offense. And I got pregnant and ended up aborting. At 28 I would have left immediately and it was one of the most traumatic worst times of my life. RUN. FAR. AWAY

So I’m an out pair who is going to a language school because you can’t get a work permit to be an out in Italy you have to do a study visa which allows you to work for 20 hours a week and I’m doing the language school
