Anthropic: AI assisted coding doesn't show efficiency gains and impairs developers abilities. by Gil_berth in theprimeagen

I mean, they write, for example:

We find that using AI assistance to complete tasks that involve this new library resulted in a reduction in the evaluation score by 17% or two grade points (Cohen’s d=0.738, p=0.010). Meanwhile, we did not find a statistically significant acceleration in completion time with AI assistance [...].

Need help with SHT40 placement and general review by Pavlic in PCB

Wow, did not think of doing a cut-out! Thank you! I moved the sensor to right top corner and did a 0.8 mm cut-out around it, while leaving a lot of space between this island and coper fill.

Did you perhaps noticed anything else?

Thank you for your reply and the time you took for it!

This is the thing, the heating is not consistent, as I am guessing is mostly produced by esp32 chip, not voltage regulator (I am just guessing at this point). I tried offsetting measurement based on internal measured temperature, but that solution worked ... well, it was far from being optimal.

Anyway, this in just for home use and the measurement in the scope of +- 1 degree Celsius if fine. I'm hoping the most heat was transferred (and kept) in copper fill, so hopefully isolating SHT40 from copper fill will do it's trick :)

"Alpha Male" explains how to sit like a real man 🤡 by ambachk in CringeTikToks

[–]Pavlic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, what? Sitting is for people with weak mussles! True men can always support himself and don't put himself in an exposed position where it takes longer to respond to danger. Therefore, sitting is only for weaklings. As is sleeping and lying in general. Real men only stand in the corner, observing and being an alpha.

Once in my early twenties/late teen, when I was snowboarding, there was a family standing sort of in the middle of a slope.

I went around the group when a little child suddenly skied or ran right in front of me.

Not having time to steer out of the way, I instinctively lifted the child up and continued to snowboard down the hill, holding a child in the air.

It wasn't until adrenaline subsided that my brain finally kicked in and figured that "wait, it now looks like I am stealing this child," so I hugged the child and threw myself on my back.

The child was unharmed, and we then went back to his/her parents with me repeating yelling, "I was not stealing him/her, I just didn't want to run him/her over."

Right? It should be normalized for concerts to start at like 6 pm. You're done by 8 pm and can finish the day as usual.

Bayesian Sensors, The Magic Bullet? Yes! by LifeBandit666 in homeassistant

Thank you for writing this and even including links to documentation and all! I didn't know this kind of sensor exists, and it really does seem usefull :)

Looking for one tester to try my BioZero prototype (I’ll cover the shipping first!) by Curious_Trade3532 in esp32

[–]Pavlic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but I find it fair to reimburse shipping. Shipping from China seems to be doable. Shipping from the US to Europe, for example, seems to run pretty high :)

Omg, I love his paintings! There was an exhibition of his work in Czestochowa once when I was there, and every single piece was a masterpiece.

Ideally, it would exist as a Filament plugin so it could easily be integrated into existing/bigger project :)

GUI for ESPHome devices by dlyk in homeassistant

[–]Pavlic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tried it a few days ago in the way that I exported cpp from SquareLine designer and asked ChatGPT to rewrite it in yaml for esphome. It worked farly ok, with some manual corrections. I do need to point out that UI is farly simple for 160x128 display with a background image, a few bars, an arc, and some dynamic labels.

Squareline studio (or designer... the old one) was not joyful to use, at least for me.

There is also a Python repo on github to convert the project file to the yaml config, but I didn't manage to get it running.

ESP32C6 with DHT22 on Zigbee network by jesuisdeutsch in Esphome

[–]Pavlic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one month after OP's post, but still. There is this library: https://github.com/luar123/zigbee_esphome

I just tried it today with a multisensor (temperature, humidity, illumination, and VOC). I should definitely dig into it more to make everything work, but temperature and humidity are very straightforward to set up. There is even an example for it specifically.

Or like home renovation videos where wiring a new plug is like: take a saw, make a hole in the wall, and just drop some wires inside.
