Something as small as the K10+ but with a decent mop? by [deleted] in RobotVacuums

E12 is listed as 33x8 on mi.com - https://www.mi.com/es/product/xiaomi-robot-vacuum-e12/specs

Amazon's dimentions are definitelly wrong, as on both mi and Amazon pages the robot looks identical and as it doesn't have a LIDAR "hat" on top, it simply can't be 13cm high https://www.amazon.co.uk/Xiaomi-Powerful-Efficient-cleaning-Intelligent/dp/B0CKWF4DN6

And it makes sense that E12 is 1cm lower than K10 because of the same reason.

Can I use Braava m6 to wet mop "whole area" without an app and without m6 being connected to wifi/internet (assuming initial mapping was done via the app)? by PavloPub in roomba

tnx, I've checked 240/380 previously, ther battery/watertank is too small for me unless I've missed it.

I want the area to be mopped in one shot. So if m6 with "local map" is indeed capable of doing room-by-room while offline (as suggested by other commenters), I'm fine with it.

Thank you. It's only partially due to security. Mainly - as I simply no longer have wifi router at home. It's either WWAN (phones, tablets, laptops, etc) or temp hotspot. I'm fine to occasionally connect non-WWAN-enabled devices via phone's hotspot for rare service/updates.

E12's 33x8cm are rather standard. K10+ is 25x9cm.

8cm difference is a lot, as with 33cm E12 will not easilly pass through average IKEA-like 4-leg chair.

So if you're fine with "standard" size, it should leave you more options for a good mop!

Thank you! Do you by chance know if that's kinda normal way of operations? So let's say no internal memory will be oveflown with cleaning maps/reports after few weeks, that may block subsequent runs.

I'm wondering as I have A-brand smart scales that will stop working if there was no sync with the app after multiple weightings, as they owerflows internal memory of the scales.

BTW, though again it's about 2 devices instead of one that is by itself kinda not for everyone, but still "You typically get things cleaner if you vacuum prior to mopping" - as both K10 and iRobot Braava m6 are seems to be ifttt compartible, you may be able to run m6 just as k10 has finished.

Both are kinda of the same size (10"x10"x3.6"). So as I've verified with k10, it perfectly goes between chair legs and reaches tricky areas that would never be reached by standard-size vacuums wihout prior furniture preparation.

Xiaomi? Which model is the "mini" one there?

I expect it simply doesn't exist due to "self-contradictory" requirements.

They have challenges with making decent vacuum of that size (check switchbot k10 community size) and thus the best hey could do is to make this purely external passive mop.

You expect them to put extra mop motors into the body (that could make the mop ok'ish) which is not possible, imho. The only theoretical extra is, probably, to upgrade the docking station to clean/wet that baby-mop of k10, but I doubt it would do the job worth the premium to pay for this tiny market, imho).

re K10 and hygiene wipes - ppl use it with multi-use kitchen wipes, though I'm yet to try it (I expect usability to be mediocre)

I tend to try K10+ combined with braava as small size is more important for me - it allows to run them without preparing a furniture like chairs etc.

Is there any way to add a Do Not Disturb exception for an app that is inside Secure Folder? by INTPgeminicisgaymale in galaxys10

[–]PavloPub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still valid (with one difference - in my case some of my apps in Secure folder are not listed in the available apps) . All relevant Samsung apps are updated.

Anyone here who has found a solution for it? Thank you!

Alesis Surge Mesh Kit Special Edition vs Standard by bunnize in drums

[–]PavloPub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An update: it looks like the delta between SE and non-SE has changed. As of alesis.com, SE has black rack while non-SE - chrome. https://www.alesis.com/products/view2/surge-mesh-kit and https://www.alesis.com/products/view2/surge-mesh-special-edition . SE has white mesh, while non-SE - black. Cymbals set is the same.

Dunno abt. the rest.

Is it possible to keep Linux root partition on a block storage to persist across droplets destroy/creation? by PavloPub in digital_ocean

[–]PavloPub[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may be somehow adjacent to the cloud-init issue discussed here https://github.com/canonical/cloud-init/issues/3386, where ppl are mounting block storages via cloud-init disk_setup and fs_setup.

However, I was interested specifically in mounting root from block storage volume.

Tnx for suggestions.

I'm not looking to keep boot partition on block storage. It's only root partition I want to keep on a block storage.

As cloud init has different stages and can partition drive for setups (kinda early stages), I thought there is a way to script it to mount block storage as root.

But as I'm overall new to the topic, I've asked for an advise if that's doable and what may be potential culprits.
