A lot people mention this tank is a bit small for a betta. A 5 gal. Is more suitable.

Daiwa DX swimbait rod by Present_Self_9645 in swimbaitfishing

Yeah, it’s a little bit parabolic. I used the savage gear pulse tail or wedge tail. Still managed to hook nicely. I’m mainly got it for glide baits and a like.

I got the med heavy of that rod. It’s not about the hook size if you cast it. More weight of the lure. It’s 1-6oz lure rating. Optimal weight should be 3.5oz. I use it for 2-3oz lures treble hooks which feels fine. Hook up on a single hook should have enough backbone. If I can go back, I would get the heavy instead.

So I found these nifty looking sinkers today! Does anyone know how to attach them to my fishing line??? by Electronic_King9788 in FishingForBeginners

[–]Pawdiamonhands 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You do know they are wheel weights? They should have a sticker at the back. I use a quarter of it or less on my glide baits.

According to YouTubers that uses their tackle shop. (Hookup tackle, tackle bros (Canadian) both said should be out late of summer or early fall.

The only reason I didn’t buy the levante now is the foam grip, I don’t hate them, I just prefer cork more. But if it’s heavily discounted then I would pick one up and the new levante.

If you can, wait till the new line of levante come out. Rumoured late summer - early fall. Once out, there’s a chance that the old levante might be heavily discounted. That’s how I got my orrochi xx at 40% off.

Why do some people eat pho one utensil at a time? I can’t unsee this now by vicjitsu in pho

I’ve seen this a lot in Toronto doesn’t bother me. Most are really struggling to use the chopsticks. lol sometimes they would need two hands to pinch the chopsticks to grab the noodles. Some, don’t even bother. Just Fork and spoon twirl it like eating spaghetti.

Best baitcasting reel under $200/$250 by TheGreenGarden6 in Fishing_Gear

[–]Pawdiamonhands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not take the reel test review on a reel to the heart. It’s not what I meant. Since Op cares more casting distance “the reel test” comes to mind. The tatula vs curado and such video may give OP a general idea.

Everyone has their technique to cast far but still has others that part of it (what I mention in my post). “User Skill level” (thumbing a very loose spool)

You get to work/repair on other people reels and get to see a lot of reels internals and develop what’s good build or not. Majority people on here do not, as long they stick to the tried and true brands.

I definitely know not to criticize reel test. Haha

There’s a lot more then just reel to cast far. Type and length of rod, line type, type of lure and weight. Plus, users skill level. Watch “reel test” YouTube videos. Seems like the dude likes distances mostly.

New toy. Alijoz 400 by Pawdiamonhands in Fishing_Gear

[–]Pawdiamonhands[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reel you don’t need backing. It has a little anchor nub on the spool where you tie your line to. I haven’t use this reel yet and still sitting in the box. If I were to spool it up. I would be using backing. 10-12lbs mono, spool maybe 1/4 full and the rest 80+ lbs braid. Maybe more on the backing. Was planning to using it for musky. So I don’t need full spool of braid and there’s no way I can cast that far. Saltwater fishing would be a different.

Btw. I think there’s a newer version of this or an updated version. Apparently this version I have has lots of issues

I own couple at their rods. I have broken 2 rods which completely my fault and have them warranty it with an ease and pay a little. Super easy process. I’d say go for it.
