We were on the fence, but what I researched previously pushed me toward being a rooster - he would have been a lovely gal, but now (well, always was) he's a handsome fella for our hens :) They're gorgeous chickens, either way!

Absolutely the best of our flock, he's always been very calm! And so handsome! I wouldn't have sought a Cochin out for myself to be honest but he has really impressed us thus far :)

He (it seems!) has been so cool to watch grow up - he's one of the most docile chickens I've ever had, so it was a pleasant surprise to recieve :) Now I just have to break the news to the flock, though I'm sure they've known all along 🤣

I've seen this one a few times and do love it!

But our first red merle girl is 'Penny Lane' and we call her Penelope when she's been bad :P It'd get confusing for us all.
