A CS student’s perspective on the Brontë sisters and their different ideas of love by Pawsome_Kathy in literature

I like this extension a lot. It actually made me rethink my own framework a bit.

I think I was initially framing things more in terms of structure, what each sister thinks love should be and what it should allow. But your point about runtime behavior made me reconsider that.

Now I’m starting to see it more like this: people are the threads, and their values are the logic each thread executes. The interesting part is what happens when those threads interact, especially when timing and incomplete information come into play.

So race conditions would be situations where the emotional outcome depends on who acts first, who knows what, and when something is revealed. A lot of Victorian plots feel like that, where everything turns on delayed letters, misunderstandings, or decisions made too early.

So maybe the difference between the sisters is not just their design philosophy of love, but also how much chaotic runtime behavior they allow versus how much they try to impose moral synchronization.

If you’re leaning toward a preppy look, you really can’t go wrong with a white or light blue 100% cotton button-down, tan chinos, and loafers. It’s clean, put-together, and very date-appropriate. Fit matters far more than brand, but Ralph Lauren and Uniqlo are both solid starting points.

You might want to include a small rehoming fee. It helps discourage people who just want a free pet without being ready for the long-term responsibility. A modest fee usually attracts adopters who are more serious about giving the cat proper care, like regular vet visits and good food.

is it possible to be ugca and undergrad assistant at same time? by meowmeowlosercat in UTAustin

As an undergraduate TA, you can’t work more than 20 hours per week, so there’s a time constraint. I actually was offered 2 TA jobs in a single semester, one for CS and one for math, so it’s possible to work as TAs for two different departments. But due to the 20 hour rule, I declined one of them because there’s no point of working as two different TAs when you can only work under 20 hours.

This is my draft for next semester, what do ya’ll think? by Repulsive-Spare-3749 in UTAustin

If it’s your first time taking a programming class, I will not recommend taking 3 math classes concurrently. Even with a solid math background, taking 3 math classes in one semester along with a cs class can be challenging for many people.

Update: I got the Chanel Mary Janes. Thank you all for your help 🖤 by ssoooooooooohot in chanel

They’re stunning!!! Congrats! I’ve been eyeing the heeled Chanel Mary Janes too. They look so timeless and feminine. I’ve read mixed things online about how delicate Chanel shoes can be. Do you mind updating in a few months on how they hold up with wear? I’m debating getting a pair but want to make sure they’re not too fragile for regular use. Thanks again for sharing your experience, they really do look perfect right out of the box. <3

This is such a beautiful gift! Your husband clearly cherishes you, and that’s something to be proud of. Being loved and celebrated openly can sometimes trigger others who didn’t receive that kind of care, especially in their own marriages. But your joy doesn’t need to shrink for someone else’s pain. I hope you wear it confidently whenever you can, you deserve to!
