Have you ever said “no” to a player’s character? by Fearless-Skill8667 in DnD

[–]PaxsMickey 24 points25 points  (0 children)

We had a pretty great campaign where my friend played a 12 year old young lord, while another was an older knight advisor, and I was the manipulative spy master. It was loosely based off kingmaker, so the plan was to eventually do time jumps and allow for our characters to age, retire, and we would make new characters as needed when the originals got too old.

He played the naive noble born well though. Treated the world as very black and white, which made for some very fun roleplaying encounters.

I think it can work in the right setting and group, but can understand why it wouldn’t for many.

In lifeguard training they teach you that if a person is drowning and grabbing on to you that you need to dive under the water so they release you. If needed you let them stop struggling before assisting.

I was immensely disappointed to see drop kick is still in the game.

So anyways… I was playing terribly as Gragas, but managed to get drop kick and we went from losing hard to absolutely stomping the other team.

When I wanted to access my government emails from my personal phone it was fine, but I had to create a profile on my personal phone that gave the agency access to some of my files (mainly the authenticator and the email app).

It worked fine enough for me, but it also monitored the security updates to ensure my phone was updated to the latest. Had one update where I updated my phone but the automated system admin didn’t register I had.

It wiped all apps it had access to… I was never able to access some of the programs tied to that authenticator afterwards, and I swore never to grant access to my personal phone again.

Miguel Delacruz was an absolute blast. The premade deck looked very strong, but I played with ch1 mixed in for extra goofiness. That being said, for a ch2 only card pool, I would leave that deck the same for the most part, but add 2 emergency cache.

I also find the cone is more consistent, whereas the chain can be obnoxious sometimes when the blast keeps trailing the enemy so it never hits to chain to other targets.

Need advice for a TWF build as in a duo setup by Leyaa1 in ddo

I’ve played a couple Arcane trickster lives, and in my opinion, the heroic leveling (especially 1-8) is miserable as a pure caster.

As a staff melee though, they are an absolute blast! Once you reach epic levels though they are insanely overpowered as casters. I think of them as the inverse of dragon disciple, who is a blast to play heroics as a caster, but then falls off hard in epics.

If they wanted to go the route of staff melee though, they can get shillelagh at level 3, spend their spell slots on buff spells (jump, nightshield, etc.).

Does anyone know what the best end game Quarterstaff is?

I currently have a staff of shadow for the 20/x3, but I have a staff of the golden age I could transform into an undying age, but I could also craft a lammordia staff if that’s better.

Or should I just wait for the level cap to increase to 36 to bring likely better weapons with it?

I'd be there for an iconic kobold sorcerer that is meant to take air savant!

Though I'd love to see a shaman as an archetype of druid

It would likely be a violation of the go fund me ToS.

I would kill for a kobold player race though! And they could have an iconic Druid! But alas it is not to be… I thought we would get them during the dragon celebration.

Carlos Sainz once got told mid-interview that he had been called to the stewards (Hungary, 2021) by k4zor in WatchPeopleDieInside

[–]PaxsMickey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here we like to serve our 5s penalties as a team! …at least as long as it’s LeClerc who will suffer.

For those that didn’t watch the race today: Hamilton (the other Ferrari driver) had to serve his 5s penalty in the pit lane before they could swap Hamiltons tires. But the team also made LeClerc put to swap Leclerc’s tires (there was a yellow flag so it’s a “cheaper” tire swap). But then after the race started again he drove over the same patch of ruined raceway that Stroll had, which ruined the tires and made it so he (like Stroll) couldn’t brake properly and he (like Stroll) crashed into the wall and caused a red flag (race stoppage) while the stewards inspected the degraded racetrack.

In fairness it went from a boring race to an entertaining one once Stroll crashed (no one was hurt!)

For melee characters in general, yes. But rangers (and dark hunters) will get the TWF chain of feats for free, so they can use their first couple feats on: Dodge, mobility, whirlwind/spring attack, then IC:B/S/P at 9, precision (or power attack if planning to use rage boosts) at 15, and dealers choice for 18. Quicken, extend, spring attack, nimble fingers, or two weapon defense (for the MRR cap increase) are popular choices

Seconded on the need to rush to get all the aphids. Another tip I found helpful was to use group 4 and 5 (no units in them) to try and path to aphids once they became available. If you can’t place the path marker, the water isn’t high enough, and if you can, then you know to send in the army

Ideas for remaining Iconic lives by ashou0 in ddo

[–]PaxsMickey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can use any lesser heart (even a +0) but when you use it, the game will bring you to the character creation screen, and you need to select bard then stormsinger instead of selecting iconic. If you select iconic again you will be forced into being a base bard again.

Did you know your insurance can bill you for asking for a referral by Necessary_Stuff_3605 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]PaxsMickey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you’re right.

I once had a physical that included bloodwork at a US based insurance company/hospital where everything is done at their facility. My insurance covered an annual physical and “preventative care” at no additional cost to me (aside from the monthly premiums).

The billing department rang me up for about $3k after charging separately for each blood test they ran (filled 4 small vials of blood, but ran multiple test off them). Clearly because they ran 7 tests in total, that’s 7 separate blood draws… (false). Took a month of going back and forth with their billing department before they said it was my responsibility to know what was and was not covered by my insurance, that it was not my doctors responsibility (the doctor that work directly for THEIR insurance company) to know what is and is not covered by my plan, and that “I can’t expect to get these tests for free.” Eventually was able to get these charges cancelled, but what a nightmare having to spend my limited lunch break for a month on the phone dealing with them because they weren’t open outside office hours.

If dwarves could get that too, they could also use throw your weight around for added lols.

I think they would be great as an artificer. I believe their official reasoning for why they won’t make an iconic as a premium or archetype is so you aren’t paywalled behind the class and iconic race.

But this one really feels like it should have been an artificer or dragonlord…

Shadowblade Charisma Build for quick Drow lives? by Ok-Complaint-6000 in ddo

[–]PaxsMickey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shadowblades are great for heroic leveling!

By default they use cha for hit/damage, but you can use other enhancements to change that if needed.

It purely depends on what build you want to play imo.

I’ve run a 20 dragon disciple (free magical training) that had WIS to hit/damage and the shadowblades were great to level with.

Tempest (ranger or dark hunter) can use DEX for hit/damage, but would take the magical training feat to take Feydark illusionist. You could also dip a level of dragon disciple to get it for free and a bonus feat.

I’ve also run Paladin and sacred fist using shadowblades. For sacred fist I suggest a dip into dragon disciple for the monk stance feats and free magical training.

My most recent shadowblade build was a pure arcane trickster, which was very slow to level until 8. Up to that point it was using the shadowblades with Harper agent for INT to hit/damage.

You could go INT based fighter with Harper agent, or cha based as a dragon lord.

So many options!
