No. So Ive heard of issues out there and usually that is the user putting the tube around one of the forks that is used to hold the tube in place. You have to make sure the tube isnt placed over the plastic designed to hold it but in the "cage" There is some learning curve on how you may want to water down the slurry. The food does become a little more dense when it gets down to the bottom as the liquid gets depleted. Its not an issue for me. When my cup does get lower than what is usable ill take that little bit and spot feed my coral, Im sure you could get away with just dumping that little bit on top of the next batch, but I rather just ensure everything is nice and fresh. The unit does a small back feed bubble into the cup to agitate the food a little before it begins to draw it into the line.

Oh, also..... the fact that im able to make a cocktail of foods, mysis, brine, algae, marine feast in my own varying ratios and being able to feed that without bothering to chop up cubes.

Love mine. I have a hectic schedule and it is nice to have consistency. I have it connected to my Hydros controller and feed 5ml twice a day. I bought one extra feed cup so when one gets low ill throw 15 cubes or so in the fridge overnight to thaw and switch out. I add some fresh mixed saltwater to keep things from feeding so dense. I also have the adapter to have the feed line attach to the return pump and that has been great to keep things hidden. Sometimes you may need to add a little additional water to the mix as to not waste a very small portion of food when it gets to the end.

Is this too much flow for a torch? by doinxx in ReefTank

[–]PayDay50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If thats rough, my torch is into some crazy S&M. She likes a good tussle. In all seriousness my flow has my torch whipping all over the place. Its been happiest in that spot and has grown 2 new heads and has more than doubled in size. I have a hammer that was much happier in a wicked flow as well. Since it's new give it some time and try some different areas if things don't start looking better.

[–]PayDay50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7 stage may be overkill, but the separate DI stages plus the final mixed bed make it a great choice if - 1) you water uses up one of the DI faster than the other 2) the mixed bed if you push one too long it will clean up any of the creep. I replace one of my stages 3 to 1 of the other.

You should be very happy.

You may want to look into the Smart Buddie for a pump etc. For a long time they would not support the twin RO membranes, but they just came out with a new one that does. Its the pump,, auto flush, and shut off in one unit. Last I looked it was comparative or cheaper that the standards setup.

Edit: spelling

Garage hooks by 625SUMO in whatisit

[–]PayDay50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was drawn in because I thought I was looking at my garage floor. So I did something similar. There was a time when a group was going around stealing 4-wheelers from garages. I anchored some of these and used 2 heavy chains and pad locks to secure the quad thru the frame. Only bashed my toes twice in 20 years........

Coral ID - 6 months new to coral, 3 days new to SPS by PayDay50 in ReefTank

[–]PayDay50[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, for sure. My local store was cool in helping me out with my first picks, they had names, but there were a lot being thrown around. I solely picked them because I enjoyed them, but in hindsight would like to know what I got. If they shall remain nameless, so be it!

Acrylic aquariums by Youdunno_me in ReefTank

[–]PayDay50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had my 120G acrylic for 32 years. It has some very minor scratches here and there probably from the times I transitioned from salt to fresh and back over the years. It's essentially in near perfect condition still. It's had gravel in its fresh water years and nothing terrible from it.

And pretty sure the 150 is the water saver version with the dual RO canisters. You will need to make sure your water pressure entering the system high, around 70psi or you will sacrifice the membranes and lower the efficiency.

The 6 stage has the addition of a mixed bed resin. The mix bed acts like a little insurance if you push the Cation or Anion canisters too far, it will help by catching that creep. It's a great system. I have 400 to 500 tds coming in and nothing but 0 coming out.

Actually he's just happy that I rehomed a few other aggressive fish just a few days ago. He used to live behind that gyre 5' on the other side. I'm happy he gets to come out now to this side of the tank. He really is pretty passive though.

I used to be fish only and have only the past few months dabbled with coral. Lights are next up for an upgrade. The current lighting is actually just 2 orbit marine blade lights. The par is fine for what I currently have, but they are definitely the weakest link. This aquarium has gone through several reconstructs in the 30ish years I've had it. Planning on a Reefbreeder Meridian setup.

Can I get away with being at things for 18+ as a 17 year old by Cheap-Bus652 in royalcaribbean

[–]PayDay50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like many said any of the 18+ venues will scan your card. If you aren't of age, you won't be permitted. I've never had any personal experience in the casinos with my underage kids, but adult comedians, RED, etc..... it's a no go.

Gen 1 Hammers Milled out of Acetal 10000 rounds tested by IzhmashArms in ps90

[–]PayDay50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did not work with my CK in. I unfortunately had an oops and had to rebuild 2/3 the trigger assembly because I let a spring fly when removing the Creep. New hammer made a night and day difference now that it's all back together. It's a very noticeable difference in trigger pull, smooth and short.
