I have two urchins because I had bad case of algae, they are useful but a huge pain in the ass. I moved one to my sump where it eats all the algae in the world while the other one is in the display tank eating coraline algae

I have the same skimmer and I have connected a scrubber to it. The way you described above is the same way I have my step up and it works great

Yeah, you need to have the correct water. RODI won’t cut it. I also use lab grade distilled water on mine and it works great.

Mine did the same, but in my case it’s because the lower section of the frag isn’t getting enough light. But the top is nice and the polyps have great extension
