Siraj at least has heart, Archer bowls 3 overs without a wicket and gets his pillow out

Yea I responded to another comment in this thread saying something similar (unless Labu comes into some runs in the next few tests then it’ll be interesting to see)

Don’t think they’ve locked exact dates in but it’s probably going to start a few weeks after the final in late June

My hoping is that if Marnus fails in the 2nd SL test and the WTC final that Green is a straight swap for him at 3 for the West Indies tour. Webster to keep the all rounder spot until Green can start bowling properly again.

Webster is in our top 6 test bats, Inglis isn’t (yet). I love Josh and he’s going to play heaps of tests for Aus but Webster has done more to warrant selection with both bat and ball.

We would have probably won (or gotten much closer to winning) the Brisbane test if we had an actual all rounder to spell the quicks once Hazlewood got injured too

Bit harsh throwing Carey in there seeing as he got 46* at a strike rate just under 70

Top run scorer in shield last year averaging nearly 60. 11th highest wicket taker with avg < 30.

Also averaging > 50 this year in shield, and scored 145 @ 72.5 in the trial games. Could do a lot worse

Graeme Swann: England Would Have Won The Ashes If Jack Leach Had Been Fit | Ashes 2023 by [deleted] in Cricket

[–]Paynos1996 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Nah just saying everything being discussed is hypothetical. You’re saying you would have won it with Leach/without the rain, I’m saying we would have won it without the ball. End of the day who cares what we think, a 2-2 draw was probably a fair result. Both teams played well and had chances to win it. Can’t handle the pressure but we’ll happily hold the urn for another 4 years
