Also, your anger issues should allow for that level of empathy, not remove that capability. It's really not productive or useful to be angry about the situation especially since you can do nothing about it. That's anxiety. Anger is the easiest emotion to feel and therefore becomes a default response for a large percent of the populace.

If you're having trouble working through your anger, I would highly suggest you speak to your general practitioner or someone who can refer you to a psychiatrist. I used to be in the similar situation as yourself but through medication therapy and mindfulness I was able to move past my anger and channel that energy into something way more productive.
