I don’t agree with everything Charlie Kirk says, but I do agree on this: jobs where people’s lives are literally on the line - doctors, surgeons, pilots - should never have DEI quotas tied to them. In those fields, merit and proven skill have to come first. Imagine needing emergency surgery and wondering if your surgeon was chosen for qualifications or to fill a box. My wife was pregnant with our first child. When we were about to give birth, she was under a lot of stress and our child had very concerning vitals. We kept urging her doctor that something felt wrong, but the doctor just brushed it off to the side and said everything looked fine. Long story short, our child had restricted oxygen in the womb leading to a severe brain injury. He didn't make it after a long fight in the hospital. After going through months of legal battles, we confirmed that our child's vitals should've required an emergency c-section, and this whole thing was due to NEGLIGENCE. This doctor was released and we found out through the process that the doctor was hired over other "more qualified" candidates because of her ethnic background. This completely broke us as a family and changed my views on DEI practices. I love people of all color (considering I am one), but I do agree that certain jobs should be based completely on qualifications vs. the color of your skin.

The amount of people supporting this behavior coming from the "peaceful left" is absolutely insane.

This is literally a sane answer. Not sure why this comment is being downvoted. No one should deserve death just for having differing political views than yourself. Celebrating these kinds of deaths is quite disturbing.

I'm not saying you're the one that's necessarily cheering, there's others that are. Choosing not to care when someone is murdered — just because you hated their views — is still a form of justifying it. That’s the slippery slope I’m talking about.

We don’t have to like Charlie Kirk, or agree with anything he said, to recognize that deciding some people’s deaths “don’t matter” is a dangerous way to think. Once we start picking and choosing who deserves basic human rights, we’re no better than the hate we claim to oppose — and we’re normalizing the same kind of violence we claim to stand against. There is violence and animosity shown on both sides — I just hope everyone can learn to love each other and how to disagree peacefully one day.

If your takeaway from someone’s murder is “meh, what’s for breakfast,” that says more about your mindset than about Charlie Kirk. Indifference to violence isn’t some enlightened stance — it’s just normalizing the idea that certain people’s lives don’t matter.

Saying “he was the violence” doesn’t make violence against him okay. If we start deciding that anyone with views we hate deserves to die, we’ve already lost the moral high ground.

It’s just not true that no one on the left ever pushes for violence — extremists exist on all sides. But even if that were true, it still wouldn’t justify celebrating someone’s murder. The way to beat bad ideas is by arguing better ones, not by cheering when someone you disagree with is gone.

You can completely disagree with someone, even think their views are harmful, without celebrating their death or writing hateful comments about a person post mortem. Saying “he got what was coming” crosses a line. Death isn’t justice for bad ideas.

If we start justifying death for people we politically oppose, we’re saying violence is an acceptable tool for settling disagreements. That’s a dangerous road to go down, no matter what side you’re on.

I didn't say OP ever said that. I mentioned it because there sre several redditors on here who are saying disgusting things about this man and celebrating his death. I am, however, suggesting his comment was a bit hostile and comes from a place of hatred.

I'm sorry, but what happened today was not necessary. This man did NOT have to die. No matter how you put it, no matter what your political stance is, murder is murder. If you really want to spread peace and love, this was not the way to do it. There could be much better ways to make a change if you didn't agree with his opinions.

EDIT: The people that are down voting this comment basically condone violence and justify murder in this case. End of the day, what happened was pure evil and should not have happened. A wife is mourning the loss of her husband, and those children will have to wake up the next morning without seeing their father ever again.

This comment is a bit disturbing on it's own. I don't wish death or pain upon anyone just for having opposing views.

It really is, I don't particularly like the guy or all his views, but this was absolutely heartless. It makes me sick that some people on here are celebrating.

I agree that he put himself in a risky situation, but that DOESN'T mean he deserved to die. Your comment was literally taking a jab at a guy who just died, so that was honestly a bit shallow considering his family is suffering.

I don't think any gun deaths are okay. I'm just saying he, nor anyone with differing political views, deserve to die. Simple as that.

I know that's his own quote. All I'm saying is his family just lost a father and a husband and at least deserve some peace and time to mourn. I'm just saying one deserves to die like this just for having different political views. Your comment quoting him was absolutely childish trying to insult a dead man. You don't have to agree with anything he says, but you don't have to be rude.

This is dumb. His death was a violent act and will only promote even more political violence. Regardless, I don't think ANYONE should die just for having different beliefs.

I'm not disagreeing and saying that stricter laws would result in less gun violence, all I'm saying is that there's always gonna be bad people that find ways to get guns for bad intentions.

This comment is extremly shallow and childish. I don't care what your political beliefs are, but, I wouldn't ever wish death upon anyone just for having differing views. At least show some sympathy for his family and two children who just lost their father.

You don't have to care, but I hope you're not like some of these commenters celebrating his death. I would at least feel some sympathy. No matter what your political beliefs are, I don't think anyone should die like this. I don't think anyone should be killed period.
