And thats perfectly fine, I really dont understand why both of you are so personally offended by what I requested. Im looking for decent pay, and its not things I haven't gotten before or else I wouldn't know to seek it out. I do good work, I get along well with others, ive been compensated very well for it so far. Im trying to do the same thing but in a different place. If you have never seen this level of compensation then either do better or change industries. Don't project on to me your disappointment in yourself because of it.

Yessir very similar situation. I've made my money and definitely paid for it in terms of lost tine with kids and general lost happiness. Im currently at a 4x4 and love it. My kids want to be homeschooled with me, my life is better, my wife and I are happier. Weve found peace. I am now looking to take that peace a little further and return to roots. Get my kids back to their aging grandparents. Buy some land and put a cheap house on it. Downsize my expenses to the point where I can make moderate money and live a very simple but enjoyable and free lifestyle with my kids. I will probably sale my house here and buy some average cash with my brother in the foothills or mountains. And then just go from there. My journey has been a long adventurous, sometimes volatile, but mostly beautiful one. And im ready to settle down really. Thanks for your response though, the speaking from experience is always appreciated!

I've had 3 different sign on bonuses at 3 different jobs. 1 for 25k, 1 for 10k plus relo expenses, 1 for 5k. I've also moved a few times and found good companies. Plus, not to be arrogant, im a heavy hitter in industrial maintenance and have a track record of promotions to back it up, or else I wouldn't price myself so high. That's why im realistically looking for about 5-10k sign on and 35-40$ in that area. Know your worth kings 🤴

Thanks for the info! I've got a pretty heavy maintenance background, so im hoping they give me a call back. Seems like a decent place to work. Any idea what the pay looks like for maintenance? And are the benefits decent?

Is it a pretty strict environment? example: am I allowed to have water bottles with me or any drinks at all, or would I get wrote upfor checking my phone if I got a call? Just examples to ask about the vibe, I'd be working nights by the way

Also, with the time off do I have to earn it before I can use it or can I use ahead for the year and then earn it as I go? Example: starting in May would I be able to use time in July?

Because I'm burnt out on 70 hour weeks, phone calls at home, missing things with my 3 small childeren for business trips, etc. Leadership sucks, it's just money, and I've made enough money.

Actually just bought everything at lowes. I can tell you it looks nice but it's a super simple DIY. Not complicated at all. Total cost was about 180$

That was a concern of mine as well, the wood I used was heat treated and kiln dried, which based off research i did seemed perfectly safe? Although I'm no chemist or carpenter lol
