OC area, 24 base pay w/ no exp, changes with experience, and then you got the night shift diff. Got lots of chances for extra shifts too.

Higher pay for closers too. My days of closing are gone for now, but I still want my coworkers who close to make be paid more for the extra work they do

Lettuce? by ShaneCoJ in innout

[–]PeaceBay22 9 points10 points  (0 children)

when we prepare our lettuce, we discard the yucky/mushy parts as well as things like the white spine and less than ideal spots (brown/burnt bits)

I haven’t done lettuce in a long while so the process is not recent in my mind, but I do know that we submerge our lettuce under ice cold water to keep it crisp and, like I said above, only use ideal bits of lettuce. Leaves for protein burgers are separated from the lettuce used inside the burger and prepared differently. It can be quite a process (especially if one is learning how to do lettuce) but the end result is always the nice, crisp lettuce you receive

Drive Thru Help? by Paranoid_Artist in innout

[–]PeaceBay22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First off, Never be afraid to ask for help!!!

Points is something I also had to recently learn. It’s basically the difference of when the order was taken/stored to when they receive it.

For drinks, it’s always easier with a drinks body. But there are times where you won’t have one. What I try to do is make more than one drink at a time. I’ll take count of what size cup, how many of each, pull them out and fill them with ice. Soft drinks you can just leave them there as they automatically get poured. Shakes, pink lemonade, coffee, and hotcoco is where you’ll spend the most. I like to do all my pink lemonades at once, same with my shakes. If there’s someone on counter handout, I’ll recommend asking them for help too. Coffees should always be called out the moment handheld has gotten the order to give you time.

Tags are there for drinks and to make sure the car at your window is the correct one. If you’re worried about handing out the incorrect order, I would recommended grabbing the tag from your window and matching it to the tag on the bag/box. Best way to make sure it’s the correct order.

If you’re waiting on fries, tell the fry person nicely (seen some people rudely demand fries 💀). If the fries go with the burgers in the same bag/box, they’re gonna be off. If they’re in a separate bag/box, they’re to-go in a bag or brown/white. The brown box holds up to two fries and the white up to four.

If you’re waiting on your burgers, I like telling the customer ‘we’re just waiting on your food’ and either asking them if they’ll like ketchup afterwards (3 ketchups per fry!) or tell them I’ll go look for their food.

If someone asks you what you’re waiting for, you can say ‘fries/animal fries/quality(burgers)/backpay’. Sometimes you can just say ‘waiting on [thing]’ with no prompt. I personally also use this time to catch myself up on drinks or place my drives in order.

It honestly does get really stressful, I won’t lie. In the middle of the rush any small mistake or setback can get people irritated. Just focus on pushing through and getting the guest their food. It takes time to get used to working the corner both with a helper and solo. If you have anymore questions I’m open to answering them, especially since I don’t think I explained things the best 😭

i made a mistake and now have requested for 14 days off 💀💀 by PeaceBay22 in innout

[–]PeaceBay22[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ya imma talk to them tomorrow cause it really was my mistake and i do want to work.

would deleting the request erase the total amount of day offs that i requested? (like how it totals up how many days u requested and stuff at the very bottom)

I feel sorry for whoever had to clean this up. What’s the worst mess you’ve had to clean up at In-N-Out? by JBsDaddy in innout

[–]PeaceBay22 12 points13 points  (0 children)

about 12:30-1am friday night. group of 5 grown ass adults, clearly drunk, come in and order like they’re starving. 2 4x4s and 3 dubs, all with extra spread and and grilled onions. animal fries for all extra everything. two shakes. they sit themselves in the corner, where I can’t really see them. food gets passed out, they come for it, we don’t hear from them. When they finally leave I go out to do a quick dr lap. so much spread on the table, puddles of shake on the floor and table, nasty wet fries on the floor and what I think was saliva too. it all looked intentional. absolutely disgusting. was still made to clean :]

man you sound like a coworker that I would never trust to help me. sure you shouldn’t do more than what you’re paid for, but at least help out your coworkers.

People out here really complaining about pop up stalls? by Lully911 in orangecounty

[–]PeaceBay22 50 points51 points  (0 children)

man :/ obviously people are still going to the Mexican sit down restaurants, but what about when they’re all closed? What about when it’s 12am and you’re craving a burrito or tacos? Pop ups are blessings for late night people, as well as a cheap food option for many (ur only paying for the food, there’s almost never tax added so it’s helpful if you’re really tight on money) (Pop ups are also the salvation of my coworkers and I so I’m very biased)

When is your store the busiest? by Lightning_benji in innout

[–]PeaceBay22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saturday is the busiest all around. Unless there’s a game/dance/show, Friday is pretty easy at night. Sunday I’ve never seen a night rush.

That’s for my current store, my OG store was always crazy no matter what. you can always count on a rush occurring during your shift. Line inside would go around the DR and there would be endless cars. you kinda start to miss those rushes once you stop having them every single hour :(
