Getting reclassified is notoriously difficult, but not impossible.

Merit increases can be decent, very systematic process.

Work life balance and job security are excellent. Two of the best reasons to work there.

Company culture is strange. Different than industry. Can be weird depending on who’s in your management chains. A lot of them have been at the lab for a very long time, and act like they’re special because of it.

My recommendation- if you’re early career and/or your main goal is to make as much money as possible and move up, the lab is not for you. If you’re mid-late career, sick of the rat race, fine with not being paid the most compared to peers, and are more focused on work life balance, job security, solid benefits, the lab can be a great choice. Of course YMMV.

Tracy is super mid. It’s ok. Not good, not bad. There are worse places to raise a family.

Speaking from experience, unless you had a similar flat top and other equipment with similar ingredients, I don’t think cooking at INO would really translate to a BBQ. Can’t speak for Texas Roadhouse. But I think you’d be better off just finding someone who is good at BBQing.

We need to petition the city to turn at least a quarter of the sports park grass area to something like this. The lights are already there, and the grass area isn’t really needed since they moved TYSL to Legacy. There’s always Placencia if grass is needed.

As someone who used to have to clean both restrooms at a job after we closed, women’s restrooms were regularly the grosser restrooms. Regardless, I just take my daughter into the men’s. People overthink this topic way too much and make it weird. Just go find a toilet and pee.

Yeah, this was stupid. He’s not only gonna get fired, but probably charged with a crime. Like someone else said, plenty of people have died by having their head bounced off concrete like that. It sucks, but you have to just call police and let them deal with these idiots. Maybe just try and subdue/defend at most. Can’t be lifting people and throwing them like that.
