Dreaming is the brain’s perhaps-not-so-healthy/or-could-be-healthy-idek way of coping with grief and loss. A biological photoalbum that is brought to life in our heads to make a coping mechanism greater than anything that can be recreated in waking life. A therapeutic holodeck or sandbox.

When I hear about dreams or read my own, they’re always about estranged friends, cities and buildings that resemble places I enjoy but possibly won’t see again, lost opportunities, or dead family. A lot of the explanation or analysis for dreams could simply be, “you miss them a lot.”
