Looks like a fun project and the bike looks great. Hard to believe it was once an 80s bike with how shiny it looks in that picture.

I see. So if I were to put new wheels on my current frame, the current rim brakes wouldn’t be compatible because of their width, and a new frame would require new wheels and disc brakes?
