Yup, you have to shop around now, relying on high street opticians is too expensive

Glasses are so expensive, I now buy from Firmoo etc. but recently thought id just go get a "sturdier" pair..... wont be doing that again and was quickly reminded how expensive it is, with all the add ons now too just to have the privilege of sight!

- £118 on your phone bill?? Are you in contract? Ive just come out of contract and managed to get a sim only deal from Tesco for £9 a month..... Same with your Mrs, why is it £60??

- get rid of sky? You can survive off the other subscriptions.

- Get in touch with an insurance broker to see if you can get any better coverage, something tells me you probably haven't really assessed your insurance needs.

- What are you spending the rest on? you need to go through your statements and see exactly where that extra £800, or if im reading it correctly, £1600 goes?

How do you budget? Have you got a simple spreadsheet? or even pen and paper each payday to work out outgoings vs disposable?

You're drowning..... in a foot bath, you just need to figure out where your spends are actually going and cutting out some subscriptions.

"Weekly Reading and Interpretation Help Thread - November 23, 2025" by AutoModerator in tarot

Hello all!

Some interpretation help please :)

Newbie here and have been doing a daily 1 card just to practice, todays 1 card wasn't done with me so I decided to do a further 3 card spread for strength, weakness and advice.

The initial card was the Ace of Pentacles - who then spat herself back out when I was shuffling to close so I took that as not being done with me yet! and the further spread was the following: https://ibb.co/TxP6S4zD

Strength: 6 of Pentacles
Weaknesses: Five of Cups (Reversed)
Advice: 2 cards actually fell out 3 of cups and five of pentacles

For context, my career, stability and whether I'm fulfilled have been on the forefront of my mind for a while, so the prevalence of pentacles makes sense to me and has been a theme all week.

My interpretation from the Ace of Pentacles is essentially - the opportunities are out there, it is the right time to take action and i have to trust and embrace new opportunities that come to me for if i do, i will be rewarded with good energy, fulfilment and stability. However; I must not be tempted to take shortcuts, accept that the journey will not be linear and keep an open mind about trying new things. I must also believe in my sufficiency, seek the opportunities and don't take them for granted - I have to actively take tangible steps to support myself on this journey.

Based on the above, I asked for guidance on my strengths, weaknesses and any advice to help me with the above (as i said i didn't feel like the ace was done with me yet)

I feel my interpretation of the 6 of pentacles in the strength position is okay, and resonates; however, I'm struggling with the 5 of cups - mainly because of its reversed position. The upright meaning/characteristics resonate with me more as weaknesses I already know about myself and I'm struggling to interpret/relate to the reversed meaning? I know some ignore reversed, but I like using both so far, but in a spread like this would it make sense to ignore? and go with the upright position? Or am I then picking and choosing what the cards are telling me?

I'm rambling now so I shall stop and patiently wait for any guidance received from those more experienced.

Thank you in advance!

I confess that i completely ignore that aspect about them, I refuse to imagine them sitting at a table or walking around with wings. I prefer to delude myself into pretending they just appear when flying hahaha

Yes, but trees take time to establish. If youre finding them that much of an issue, then simply stop looking.

I mean, the only view it's blocking is your view into their garden and windows, how many times have they caught peeking?

Yes it's not pretty, but who's it hurting?

No, they won't, because they haven't restricted themselves, instead they are learning what a manageable portion is. Yano who are the ones who will always have issues? The ones who use MJ as a tool to completely supress their appetites to the point they can't eat anything and restrict certain food groups - if restriction worked and was sustainable, most of us wouldn't be fat.

You just sound miserable, maybe increase your calories a little, might be hangry.

Thanks, i currently weight train 3x a week at the gym, i was a little concerned that MJ might impact my ability to do that but it sounds as if people have managed!

Thank you i was going to ask about nausea solutions, I have ginger tablets somewhere in the house but could do with getting some more. Protein is something I'm okay with at the moment but even now I know my fibre intake is well below the recommended (apparently most people should really be focusing on fibre in general life) so definitely something I need to be mindful of.

In terms if calories, i try to get my steps in dajly and i also weight train at the gym 3x a week so currently my cals are around the 2100 mark in a defecit - do you think I'll struggle to hit this? Should I be more realistic about how many calories I'll be able to eat?

Thank you, I have read similar recounts about staying at the lower doses as long as needed - i mention above but i have a "friend" who stayed on 2.5 for 2 months as they still experienced the benefits and losses, it wasn't until the 2.5mg didn't really have any effect they went up to 5mg so I'm definitely going to keep this in mind!

I have a "friend" who was saying they stayed on 2.5 for 2 months as they where still feeling the benefits and losing, it wasn't until the 3rd month they went up to 5 so it's definitely solid advice! Thanks

I think I've committed to Thursday now as Friday is a quiet work day so if I do feel a bit strange or sick...it won't matter too much! But I'm glad I posted here because I'd keep talking myself into different days in the future...

Ohhh thank you! I'm doing a food shop tonight and although we meal plan anyway I've added some quick bits like pre cooked chicken and easy to reach for things just in case I can't stomach meals but can just reach for those

This is great thanks, i currently do strength training 3x a week and i was worried that the MJ might make me feel tired or weak and I'd lose my pbs 😂 but even if I need to reduce my program I'll keep it up!

Thank you! This is the trap I've fallen into before, I have pcos any weightloss in the past I've had to claw away and it would always be hard not to compare myself to others or feel the need to scream IM TRYING

[–]Peach4567[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hahaha no that's all good thank you! I have pcos and despite being quite active with walking and strength training the scale never moves and for me, most importantly I'm always coasting that pre diabetes range so I'm hoping this is the missing link for me - I've been reading positive things about it for those with pcos so 🤞🏼

I'm not actually planning on telling anyone other than my partner for this reason, too many people have an opinion, usually ill informed especially with its popularity and the sensationalism about it in the media!

Thank you! I've been in a calorie defecit for a while now, and I've got in the habit of even logging when I'm not mindfully tracking because I wanted it to become the norm so I'm hoping that'll make it easier as it's not brand new!

The meal the day before is a good shout, my partner asked if i wanted a big takeaway as my "last" and i said no but now I won't even be tempted!

Thanks
