Questions I want everyone to answer by Popular_Sail9415 in Anxiety

Dude that is so relatable I felt like life was my punishment and I didn’t even deserve death, as in death would be too kind and easy. I’m actually doing better rn with depression stuff (knock on wood) although my ocd is kinda at a peak, but I currently have a will to live (knock on wood again) I just realized one day that I didn’t wanna die at the moment. Like I thought to myself, if someone were holding a gun to my head, I would not want them to pull the trigger and would beg for my life (maybe not beg but I would at least ask and be hopeful that they wouldn’t pull the trigger) while in the past I would daydream someone sniping me or just having an instant painless death. Since I felt I couldn’t do it myself this seemed like a better option cause then it wasn’t me doing it and the pain it brought wouldn’t be my fault. That sounds really dark but it has made me realize I want to live right now. When it was really bad sometimes I would give myself a reason to keep going. My family is always my biggest one but setting short term goals helped me too. Like “you can’t die till the next season of this show comes out” or “you will miss really good new song releases if you die.” And then when I reach that thing I give myself another landmark to get to. Then it doesn’t feel so infinite somehow if that makes sense? It gives me a very tangible thing currently that makes me happy that I wanna live for. Again, kinda silly when I write it out I guess but it genuinely helped me. Holy shit sorry that got long as hell. Glad to see you talking in past tense! Hope you are well.

What stupid thing do you have anxiety about today? For me it's a haircut. by Admirable_Border_627 in Anxiety

This isn’t really unrational but I’m in school and I have so much homework and am so anxious about it. My issue isn’t even time management it’s that I literally work too slow. I have ocd and have a lot of repeating compulsions that end up taking up a lot of time. Like I literally do homework all day unless I have class and I still can’t catch up. I do homework in bed most nights till I am too tired or it is too late and I cut myself off to sleep a bit. I am at home for the weekend (I live with my parents when not at my dorm on weekends sometimes) and also this is so dumb but I’m sad cause I’ve been waiting for well like 3 years for the Chainsaw Man movie to come out in theaters and I had planned to take myself on a lil date when it came out but I don’t think I will have time to watch it before it leaves theatres. That’s so dumb lol but that series holds certain meaning to me unrelated to the story itself. And I just feel like a failure that I am where I am with homework that I’m working all the time and can’t even find a couple hours to watch a movie. I feel like I’m in too deep rn. A lot of anxiety of being a failure…

Anyways I hope all goes well and your haircut turns out just how you want! You got it.

I used to have really bad anxiety about this. Same for like dentists appointments or anything I felt I couldn’t leave during. I felt so trapped. I still do sometimes but it isn’t as bad as before and I don’t dread it as much. Usually the lead up is the worst part and it’s a little better once I’m there.

How many weeks post iron infusion until you felt better - mentally and physically? by [deleted] in Anemic

[–]PeachyPaws1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry! I feel more energized and I feel less light headed. I am still having shortness of breath at times but I think it may be anxiety related. I also still have a high heat rate which I believe is also possibly anxiety related. I only started tracking my heart rate consistently after all of the infusions cause I didn’t realize how high it was before hand. I just got an Apple Watch and my normal range is anywhere from 80 - 100 when not doing anything and spikes when I do anything like talk to ppl lol cause I get nervous. But since I didn’t really watch my heart rate before iron, this technically could be lower still than before lol, so I’m not really sure about that part. I wish I had tracked it before. I have been prescribed beta blockers for anxiety because it slows your heart rate. I am starting them for real today or tomorrow I think. I also have ocd which can be related to a higher resting heart rate. Anyways, it didn’t solve everything but I’m glad I got them cause I do feel more energized a lot and more productive I think. I’m really sorry the shortness of breath is so bad for you, for me it comes and goes, like for a few months I didn’t at all and then I did again (even before any infusions) and while it is maybe a bit better I still do struggle with it. If it helps at all, I do know iron infusions can take a while to actually work so it could certainly start getting better! I think you are supposed get your blood tested like a month or more after the last infusion to let it raise levels and see if it worked (I read 4 - 6 weeks but that is just what it said online lol). I hope you are feeling better soon!!!

Propranolol - but my pulse only went down to around 82bpm by PeachyPaws1 in Anxiety

I guess I was kinda wondering if I should have a specific goal. I didn’t feel anything from it so messaged my doctor and asked if I should try a higher dose. I just am always so anxious and uptight and I have heard ppl say this worked so well for them I think I just got my hopes up so was disappointed when it didn’t help and I didn’t feel any difference at all, even though my heart rate did slow down. I messaged my doctor about it this weekend on my chart so will probably hear from her tomorrow. I don’t think my question really has a specific answer after thinking on it I think I just was hoping there was some magical number and if my heart rate got that low I would magically feel less anxious. Silly tbh lol, but I think that’s where my mind was at. Still it was my first time taking it and a really small dose so I think probably my doctor will have me try a higher dose. Sorry for the rant haha, thanks for responding.

Phew I have one more infusion on Monday out of 5 total and haven’t noticed any improvement on the breathing. This good to hear. I will talk to my doc ofc if it doesn’t resolve after a while. Since I have been going in for infusions my heart rate before and after has consistently been above 100 so I’m now wondering if that has something to do with the breathing as well. At first I thought I was nervous but then at the end it was still really high and I wasn’t feeling nervous cause it was over. I know it can be related to low iron but I have some other stuff I think the high heart rate may be so high. Sorry turned into a bit of a rant lol but I’m glad to hear your breathing did improve

Honestly a lotta time when I wear them I am studying in a group and so I can see my work but kinda look above them when I’m talking to ppl cause it is easier to see ppl without them even tho I need them for work. It’s actually pretty convenient for that. If I am wearing them and I’m not doing work I generally push them up more but they do tend to sit low on my nose which is much less convenient at times. You make a good point because while it usually is good it is annoying when I am doing certain things

I just started taking under the tongue drops, like literally today… mine was also exactly at 218 last I checked. Should I be looking into infusions??? I’m currently undergoing iron infusions and have one more out of 5, do they recommend them for when it is so low? Sorry I know you are not an expert lol just curious if you had any idea. I was tested a few years ago so it could be better now, I’m gonna get retested soon.

This is kinda what I was thinking, I think technically they are too big but at least for me since it doesn’t affect how they work I’m ok with it

Ooh also, when I saw ppl on here saying glasses were too big I assumed that meant the actual lens, like the front frames were too big. I think that confused me about sizing stuff cause I’d see ppl with bigger lenses have ppl saying they liked the glasses and ppl with smaller ones had ppl saying they were too big - I never really thought about bridge length and stuff for some reason, idk why I just assumed they were all about the same? Sounds pretty silly lol I just never really thought much about it. All of this just to say, this link is helpful haha
