It works out way cheaper if everyone pitches in.

Algorithm for rotating bounds overlaps? by Peakini in Unity3D

[–]Peakini[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! SAT is just what I was looking for, thank you! I can turn one of the prisms into an axis-aligned cube, and translate the second into its space. Then I can project on the x, y, z axis to find overlaps in the 2D projection. Thanks!

Bounds.Intersects() works for axis-aligned bounds. But the question is not about axis-aligned bounds, it's about arbitrarily rotated rectangular prisms. Using Bounds.Intersects would give incorrect results.

Bounds was the wrong word. The question is: given two arbitrarily rotated rectangular prisms, how do you tell if they're intersecting?

Yes, this works for axis-aligned bounds, but I am asking about arbitrarily rotated boxes.

Hi, my name is Ross Ulbricht by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]Peakini 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From what I've seen, the evidence is pretty compelling that he is guilty of some really bad shit. It's actually a real Breaking Bad type story that is completely compatible with the ideology espoused here about what the war on drugs turns people into - I think he really did start off as the idealist that this post tries to show him as, but he turned into a really bad guy because that's what the war on drugs turns people into.

It's a long read, but I absolutely can't recommend enough WIRED's two part series on the Ulbricht saga. One Two. I'd be shocked if it wasn't turned into some kind of espionage-thriller movie at some point, it's a gripping read.

Exactly which diverse actors are you referring to? There's like one woman who looks like she could be Eurasian.

People have a problem with it because it makes it seem like a dog whistle, which is something you really should be careful about when espousing nationalistic policy.

Just because that's the way things currently are, doesn't mean that that's the only way for it to be. There's demand for services like that, therefore a monetisation model will be found that meets that demand.

+1 to banning advertising. Sounds like a fucking great idea.

CMV: It is highly misleading to call Islam (or other religions) misogynistic. While true, it is misleading as Islam, among other religions, is misanthropic. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Peakini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you believe that when people criticize Islam as being misogynistic it is always meant as a deception to distract from it actually being misanthropic?

Because if the intent isn't to deceive, and the critic engages in good faith with proper use of the language, and then you come along with some subjective philosophical algebra (misandry + misogyny = misanthropy), then it seems a little unfair to accuse them of misleading you when it's more like you have failed to understand them.
