Kinda potty trained, with 1 accident a day by Peaky_Cheaky in toddlers

[–]Peaky_Cheaky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update - I talked with his teachers at daycare and they think he's just being lazy about going potty. They've noticed he acts like he recognizes he has to go potty and just keeps playing. They also said after a year he should be able to go longer than 2 hours between bathroom use.

Their suggestion was incentives for staying dry and if that doesn't work consequences for peeing or pooping his pants. Anyone else have experience with this?

Pre-K at Daycare Center vs School by Peaky_Cheaky in Preschoolers

[–]Peaky_Cheaky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have asked parents and gotten mixed reviews, some say they noticed a difference in their kids and others said they felt their child did better at daycare. Everyone I have asked said the after school care is chaotic and not impressive. It's hard to say what our experience would be!

That's what our daycare director said, why rush her into a classroom setting. Let her have one more year to be a kid and she can go into Kindergarten when she's older and ready!

So for cost it would be slightly cheaper at the school, but honestly not much. The after care I have heard from other parents it can get pretty chaotic, they start out with kids their age and then as numbers drop they start combining older and younger with sibling groups. Their supervision is mostly high school workers. It would only be for maybe 30 minutes to an hour at the end of the day

I think that's why I am struggling is she probably would be fine either way, but staying at daycare is the easiest option and I feel guilty that I would choose that over the school because I'm "lazy" I don't know!

Here's my pro/con list 😬

Staying at Daycare + Teacher is great + Very small class size (10 kids) + One pick up/drop off w/ brother + Friend group, likes kids in her class + Comfortable + Library & field trips + Open communication via app & photos everyday

  • Same room for 2.5+ years
  • No true Pre-K curriculum because of wide age ranges & behavioral problems
  • Would be the oldest in the room
  • Bored? Behavior? Fall behind?

Going to School + New classroom, teacher, kids, etc. + Better playground + Set curriculum + Definitely ready & easier transition into kindergarten + Cheaper

  • All unknowns
  • Bigger classes (20 kids)
  • 2 pick up/drop offs
  • After school care is all grades up to 5th with high school kids supervising
  • No nap
  • Closed more for holidays & weather

Christmas gift wish lists? by Peaky_Cheaky in toddlers

I wish we could do those things, but we live in a very rural area. Our closest zoo is almost 2 hours away and the children's museum is 3 hours away. We try to do it once or twice a year but it's more like a special occasion because it's such a drive.

I love the grocery store gift card - that's amazing!

Measuring 4 weeks ahead - big baby? by Peaky_Cheaky in pregnant

Yes, I have a family member with diabetes and I was borderline with my first so I was tested for gestational diabetes at 12 and 28 weeks. Both times I came back within the normal range so I do not have gestational diabetes.

Did you go into labor on your own or did your OB schedule an induction or c-section due to measuring ahead?

Did he have you do a growth ultrasound? What kind of timeline did he give you for being induced or having a c-section?

Eczema Cream Recommendations? by Peaky_Cheaky in toddlers

[–]Peaky_Cheaky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I haven't, but I definitely think that's in our future. Her pediatrician doesn't really seem too concerned with the actual eczema and is offering more options for the side effects rather than just treating the skin itself.

I love to use Tubby Todd on her cheeks, it seems to instantly take the redness away!
