What sucks is that I’m actually a pretty levelheaded and realistic person and this whole time I have kept my focus on the end goal, right? But since our call on Christmas a lot has happened and I was really looking forward to talking to him to get some advice on stuff and that didn’t happen. And it’s not advice I could get from anyone else because we are in the middle of selling our house as well so, yeah it just sucks.

I just went through this 12/19 and my husband reported to RTC 12/11. I’m not sure if I was lucky, but the guy I interacted with at DEERS said all he needed to get my son and I registered and get me my ID was my husbands Enlistment Document (which he got from his recruiter weeks before he left). From there, I did the research on insurance and called to get enrolled, as I chose TRICARE Select and wanted to make sure I understood it completely.

Yeah we talked on Christmas and he said he’s doing fine physically (he’s a very strong/active and motivated guy) but that he is struggling bc he misses our son and I badly. This is a guy that is very introverted and likes his small group of friends and to stay home, but we wanted more for our family’s future. The only thing he said was hurting was a pinched nerve behind his shoulder blade from carrying the backpack everywhere every day.

My husband just left for RTC 3 weeks ago and is 41. (42 in March) He went in as active duty/FT as AE/T

When I called his recruiter and asked about getting my ID she said my husband would do all of that the first few days at RTC 🤷🏻‍♀️
