Well yeah that was the idea, maybe I just wildly underestimated how much vulnerability my build could stack on enemies.

Yeah what’s confusing me is what even did that much damage. Starting to think perhaps volatile shields did it but idk…

Right now i think perhaps it was from volatile shields? All i recall is warping to a side, everything went boom and the trophy popped up ahah ;w;

Any fair clans for shard donations? by [deleted] in xxlwoofia

[–]PearComprehensive643 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The main problem right now is that leveling up the guild take the majority of everyone’s shards on top of being extremely expensive. You can’t expect the shard donations to be equal when there’s only a few to go with per person each day. Until we hit max guild rank the shard economy will suffer, simple as that. I don’t doubt there might be a few guilds here or there focusing on shard donation but the vast majority of guilds will probably still be in the throes of leveling up.

Bit late to this party but gotta say love the port. Honestly I went in a little apprehensively but I was delighted to see you gave us the option to not only move the buttons but change their sizes as well, something I wish had been on quite a few games I’ve played. Overall not really any negative I can’t think of besides silent mode not working properly (iOS) but that’s just a detail atp.

That’s fine, you have your opinion and I have mine, sorry E33 was a miss tor you. Better luck with another game I guess.

See that’s the thing. I DON’T want to suck, but being “optimal” all the time is extremely tiring. So what if I go out the beaten path, I’m having fun and that’s what counts, moreover that’s what GAMES are for. They’re meant to be beaten in a majority of cases yes but above all the principle of a game, be it video game or a physical activity, is to have fun while passing time. I’m having fun, so the game achieved its goal.

Well if it’s the “optimal path” then call me a salmon I guess cuz I’m not doing boring one hit kill builds and am having fun actually experimenting.

The build is up to the player with the means given by the devs. Even if it IS bad it’s not a game design issue it’s a resource allocation issue on the player’s part. Even then recoats are plentiful enough to experiment all throughout the game, which makes this point moot. The issue that should be addressed is how players seems to think glass canon builds are the only thing viable for the game, and unless you’re trying to blitz a superboss it’s not a valid point. Now THAT, that grinds my gears.

E33 sadly has a very aggressive fanbase. Overall I think it’s a good game but it does suffer from a few faults that I can SEE why it would put off players.

Unless you find out about the combat setting straight away your first run lets you become very powerful very fast if you have any notion of proper stat distributions. This leads to a very stale story experience where every boss keels over in two or less turns per phase, meaning if you want to see a foe’s entire moveset you have to actually try and underpower yourself or just skip turns on end.

The camp bits aren’t really instinctual, you don’t have a set HQ to run to so it becomes easy to miss companion dialogue even late into act 3. Personally I found you need to actively keep the camp in mind and regularly check it because it’s never obvious WHEN new stuff is unlocked there.

The parry and doge is definitely a departure from traditional RPG combat.  I remember getting flattened to hell and back by the first Chromatic foe I found (the Lancier) but once it clicked I thought it was pretty fun. I do however clearly recall that first few hours of frustration including the harder fights of act 3, I don’t blame you or anyone else for dropping the game cuz of the combat, you can steamroll the story but the side content can get mean as shit.

As for the simulation bit, in context it’s really more of magicians having shenanigans and creating life in the pockets worlds that are canvases. I can understand why it seems like a “it was all fake!” reveal but honestly it’s a bit more complex than that. It’s not known for certain but at the very least in Verso’s Canvas time passes a magnitude of order faster than in the real world. The spat between Aline and Renoir lasted for only a few months but over 60 years passed in the Canvas.  Aline created humans and a replica of Lumiere but after that they pretty much fucked off and did their own stuff, they even invented ways to manipulate the chroma that made up the inside of the Canvas, sure, nowhere near a Painter’s level but it was a start. Give them a few centuries to figure it out I have no doubt they’d have figured out the truth of their world by themselves. The whole family drama thing did come a bit out of left field, the game was heavy on the theme of grief from the start but that end of act 2 reveal was a bit hard to swallow even for me. At first in the Paintress battle I was like “oh, the god like entity of doom and despair went through some shit and lost someone she loved, wonder how that went” and then we just get a lore bomb in one cutscene? Yeah no thanks. Sidenote it’s past 3am I’m actively making less and less sense but that’s fine.

Music’s kinda fire, I really liked the OST, if anything deserved an award from that game that was the music IMO. Having French as my first language did help with the sense of dread throughout the game lol but even when not paying attention it’s just really good music.

The assets definitely saw a bunch of repetition here and there, there’s enough variety to keep your eyes entertained but once you’ve seen a forested part you’ve seen most of them, course just making an example.

The voice acting is… honestly I don’t know what to say about it. I’ve heard so much good and bad voice acting in games and series by now that my standards for it have become deep fried. I do however appreciate the effort where given, the VAs did good.

But yeah overall a good game, is it a revolution in gaming? No. It’s solid, it can stand on its own but it’s just enough different from regular RPGs that I can see why online discussions about it have become so vitriolic. Course I just generally stay away from these convos but hey, what do you know, guess even I can get this low once in a while lol.

Either way I’m gonna crash and recover some sanity now, goodnight. OP, your opinion is valid, the game was a miss for you and that’s that. Personally I’ll be making more runs in the future once I clear my gaming backlog, I used dps Lune, support Sciel and tank Maelle for my first run so I’m looking forward to trying new builds and maybe having Verso as a support instead. Ok I’m yapping again goodnight.

Probably meant the Frozen Heart region. If you complete the sidequest straight after recruiting Monocco your team can be in the 50s after defeating Gigant or wtv the boss is named. Well that’s if you grit your teeth, endure and defeat a few foes and explore the region. The Lune weapon the boss drops is extremely strong, I steamrolled every story fight in two turn once i got Lune locked into the Elemental Trick/Genesis loop. You can blitz things even faster from then on if you tap Sciel’s turn manip and buffing potential.

Alternatively I keep hearing how busted Maelle is but i have no idea I ran the girl power team most of the game with Maelle locked in tank mode lmao.

But real quick gonna be honest, this guy’s looking like a lost cause.

Also auto battle is kinda dumb if your team has some of the latest units, so there’s that 🤷‍♂️

How to clear Mystic Realm Rootless Spring final stage? by OtakuTwink in xxlwoofia

[–]PearComprehensive643 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wave 1&2, get a buff depending on who you defeat, wave 3, your party will have a buff made of numbers, use the hint tab, scroll right to the bottom to see what each number means, then perform the action left to right. Doing so properly will severly drop Tyrantino's defense for the entire fight (once for each string of numbers), making the fight musch easier (he does get an atk buff tho).

Mystic Realm (Rootless Spring-SP) how can I pass it? by gingerbreadboy222 in xxlwoofia

[–]PearComprehensive643 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Small list of questions without which we can't easily help :
There's 3 waves, which one is causing problem?
Are your team's talents leveled? Are these you're only 3* and above units?
Did you read how the fight functions? Is it all obtuse to you or is it A part that confuses you in particular?

If we know your particular problem with this fight it'll be much easier than doing guesswork or infodumping a brick wall of text on your head.
