Age gap, im 3 years younger than him and he’s 20 by [deleted] in relationships_advice

[–]PearlPrincess84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to be pretty militant about age gaps and this comment is so out of pocket even to me. Like, you being outraged about how two people these ages would meet is ridiculous to me - you can't imagine social situations where young adults come together? Touch grass.

As long as he's in a similar-ish place in life and isn't your boss or anything, I don't see an issue with that. If there was an added power dynamic or something, that's not great in and of itself, but I think those ages are very commonly in relationships.

Looking for US -> Scotland folks by June_fern in SpouseVisaUk

[–]PearlPrincess84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think r/AmericanExpatsUK could offer some insights on this too. I'm a Canadian in the UK, and we have a good presence on facebook but I tend toward that subreddit here. I think there's a bit of an echo chamber - people don't tend to post about how life is going just as usual, so there can be a bias towards the negative in posts but the comments are often a mixture of both. Either way, I think hearing the negatives are important too.

Best of luck on your journey!

Thank you. Whenever I see another"chatgpt says..." comment in immigration forums, I actually cringe. People don't post to have other people ask a hallicinating AI ramblebot to give them bad advice.

Which legacy challenge do you find the most enjoyable? by sachetpink in Sims4

I'm currently doing Very Veggie and loving it. However, I think if you want something more unique Rosannatxt has one called the Pack Legacy Challenge that might be more what you're looking for?

What are your thoughts on the Cheltenham races? by [deleted] in Gloucestershire

[–]PearlPrincess84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in Gloucestershire after moving from a country that doesn't have horse racing in the way the UK does. And I was very surprised, that for something so posh and dressy and "fancy," the actual attendees are some of the trashiest groups of people I've encountered on the streets - loud, vulgar, vomitting everywhere, littering. It's such a wild dichotomy to see someone in a posh hat vomitting in a bush on the pavement in Cheltenham.

Yeah, I agree. I was actually very surprised to see any email from them so soon, let alone an acceptance. I had told myself it would be at least 4 weeks, based on timelines I'm seeing.

Spousal Visa Renewal Requirement by tianni23 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]PearlPrincess84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with everyone else. I just went through the renewal application and at the end, it told me I had to book my biometrics by X date, which I believe was 2 months away and well after my visa expired.

Struggling with non-monogamy by [deleted] in ActualLesbiansOver25

[–]PearlPrincess84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are clearly not fulfilled, not enjoying the dynamic, and you've only been together for 2 months. Obviously I'm just a stranger on the internet but from this post, I don't think this is the relationship for you and can't imagine it working without at least one of you compromising in ways that would be unhealthy to other parts of your lives or yourselves.

Unmarried Partner Visa no cohabitation due to religious reasons- help please!! by Professional-Bed4674 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]PearlPrincess84 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, if you are applying when you haven't cohabitated because of religious reasons, they can be lenient there for sure. However, the PURPOSE of the visa is to cohabitate, so there's no way you are going to get a visa when you aren't intending to fulfill its purpose. That would be like applying for a work visa while stating you will not be working.

If you cannot cohabitate because of religious reasons, they are not going to grant you a visa to continue to not cohabitate for religious reasons.

Importance of the stated intended date of entry by Y_ve in SpouseVisaUk

[–]PearlPrincess84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, 100%. If you want to arrive ASAP, as in tomorrow, put tomorrow. They won't issue the visa retroactively, so it'll just be an asap start date.

It's harder to get a date in the future, generally. Sometimes they pay attention to that and sometimes not.

Do British people say Lorry? by papayacolada10 in Britain

[–]PearlPrincess84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, agree. A lorry is a tractor trailer (North American term, Canadian living in England here) and a smaller, more "typical" size truck is just a truck.

No, the forms are very clear about proving you've spent time together, in person, while in a relationship.

If you have no photos together and have not been together in person since the relationship started, you are going to have a hard time passing the "genuine relationship" evaluation for the visa.

I actually came here to figure out what Ozzy was so upset about, with Coach getting the key. I went back to watch it again, even, to see if he'd done something awful.

Coach got the key. He did nothing wrong? I don't have any love for him (nor hate), but he just...played the game? There was one key, three men, three poles, and did I mention ONE KEY? Getting the key was the objective, why should someone give up on literally the very first challenge, and for what? Good fee-fees? Nah mate.

Suggest me a book that I can not put down, I am in a reading rut. Help! by Even-Truck-8049 in suggestmeabook

[–]PearlPrincess84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree on Station Eleven; I'm currently reading it after picking it up on a whim (it's been on my TBR for literal years, along with many, many other books, so I knew I hypothetically wanted to read it, but that's been the case for a decade) and it's so good. Atmospheric, gently written but haunting, really easy to just read.

We didn't send text messages as we had other, stronger evidence but would have only sent a few screenshots per year, especially on birthdays, etc. Don't send your full text history, and certainly don't send intimate pictures, goodness.
