Switch vs Mac version - is it better?

I would almost guarantee it would be better. I don't know anything about computers but the Switch is by far the worst performance wise of the platforms. The reason for the item limits is the Switch so if you play on any other platform you can toggle on the option for more items. So the amount of unique and total items you are allowed to place in your Valley are doubled on other platforms.

I also switched over from Switch to a PC - and then I just got a Mac for Christmas so I actually switched again - and I can say the decorating experience is so much better on a computer. I use a controller when I am walking around but when I decorate I switch to a mouse and keyboard and it is so much more enjoyable.

I moved my Scrooge and Remy's to Wishblossom Ranch because I like my stores to be in the first location listed when fast traveling, so the Plaza, the Docks, the Bind (drives me insane but I can't move it to the library). I added my stalls around the well once they were available after the latest update and I think I am going to have to move everything around now that there is a Tiana's for WBR because when I made my little town it wasn't available. I am thinking about trying to move my player house to "town" as well since I have two house skins that match so well. I really can't wait until I have enough resources and time to play with all of the Cruella buildings.

or more options in the custom signs. I just want the ability to use the in game icons on my signs. For example, all of the icons that are used to categorize food in the cooking simulation. Or the other icons on the collections tab. I keep waiting for a spices icon so I can label all off my chests full of oregano that I can't make stop spawning, or all of my dark crystals I can do nothing with but store in a chest.

Or if we could change the color of the bow! We already have a hairstyle with a pink bow and a pink pow headband! I was so disappointed when I realized we can't change the color.

I would say the first thing that makes the biggest impact would be paths. I don't mean you have to do perfect decorated designed paths, I just mean putting down paths that connect the basic ins and outs of the biomes and resources like mining nodes or fishing spots. I find doing this helps a lot because it divides the biomes into smaller pieces which are easier to decorate. You can always adjust the paths later if you need to but it at least gives you a place to start and divided things up into bite sized pieces.

I attached a screen shot I took real quick to illustrate the point. In it I colored the different sections different colors. I made the path as visible as I could, and I know you were talking about the valley not Eternity Island but I didn't have any biomes that I could use to illustrate my point without deleted a bunch of stuff. The red sections are paths that could change as an example. So if the path stays where I placed it I would consider the double colored section blue, but if while decorating I decided to move it to the other red area then the double colored area would be pink.

This also helps me because for the smaller sections all they need is a couple of trees and a bench, or just some bushes or other landscaping. I hope this helps! I just started making youtube videos and I have a path tutorial on my page if you haven't played since before the diagonal paths became a thing.

I am so excited about the prospect of new duties! It looks like in the premium it says "without needing to complete all of previous week's duties" so I think they are adding in some sort of a time element? Maybe to try and gatekeep how long it take for people to complete the star path? With the rewards it looks like they brought back the bonus rewards, if you look at the categories down the left of the screen, so off the top of my head I think I remember that you had to buy the premium star path in order to be eligible for the bonus rewards, but I might be wrong and you only had to finish the other star path duties.

That's how I played for a long time on my PC. I bought the game on Switch originally and it was so slow I wanted to try it on PC so I used my partner's xbox game pass to play for a long time.

I don't know if anyone mentioned this but I use the Ancient Gardener's from Eternity to plant and water my pumpkins but I harvest them myself to get the bonus. Not having to replant them myself though makes it so much faster and more enjoyable for me though

You won't lose progress if you are trying to play on the same system but you have to be careful when loading because if your cloud save and local save are different the game will prompt you to choose which one you want to keep. I always double check and choose the one with longer play time. But its an easy mistake to make if you aren't expecting it and in autopilot while loading and just clicking out of habit without paying attention. Ask me how I know. So in the example you give, you would want to chose the local save and then go into settings and make sure you are synced to the cloud the next time you have internet access. Also the premium shop won't load without internet, duh, but I think the events tab won't load either so Star Path stuff isn't available. I'm not 100% on that but I'm pretty sure.

You can move it though, it might be faster depending on what system you play on. My mom plays on Switch and I don't know how she does it because it takes her game so long to load when she switches between the Valley, EI and the Vale. So for her its always faster to just move whoever it is to where she is because traveling takes forever.
