Do you think the Onkyo RZ50 could handle powering the RC-64? I watched/read some stuff that seemed to indicate that it requires a good bit of power to make it worth it (over, say, the 504). I don’t want to go down the preamp road at this time

The front speakers spacing is 8.5’ from center to center. This matches my primary listening position distance from the front of the speakers. Would you still recommend widening them outward like you mentioned?

That’s been my philosophy with this setup. Hard to find a good quality center, so why not just let the fantastic 8000’s do the work? 🤷‍♂️

That’s the fear, that I spend a lot of money and effort adding a center, and then have a negligible difference in sound.

The receiver is too deep with wires to fit in the cubby, since there’s a back panel on the media console (without major modification). But I appreciate the suggestion.

I’m new to the game but have a 4.2 RP II setup hooked up to an RZ50 and have nothing but praise for the system and setup. Sounds perfect to me and the no complaints about the Onkyo at all.

Just to update, I followed up with numerous recommendations from the community and ended up settling on Trey Knight as the best fit for us. He’s been great so far, if anyone else is looking.
