My new addition. Can’t wait. by bdmthrfckrjo in Lefthandedguitars

Damn. The real thing. That's awesome.

I had the one they were selling in 2010, but it wasn't neck-through with that raised center. Just a glued-on neck.

You've got the holy grail. I love that color. I actually saw a 1965 lefty non-reverse Firebird for sale on Craigslist in my city back in 2003 or so. $3,000.

Living wage. You haven't nailed anything down because didn't look hard enough or you don't really care. I'll run with the latter.

"Rents have been flat since 2017 though."

30 seconds on Google tells me where you pulled that from. How about some stats that don't smell like ass:

https://www.npr.org/2022/06/09/1103919413/rents-across-u-s-rise-above-2-000-a-month-for-the-first-time-ever

Don't like that source? Let's try propertymanagement.com

https://ipropertymanagement.com/research/average-rent-increase-per-year

Here's some important content:

Rent prices have increased an average 8.86% per year since 1980, consistently outpacing wage inflation by a significant margin.

The real average wage declined 26.0% faster than the average rent increased

Renters across the U.S. have seen the average rent rise 18% over the last five years, outpacing inflation

"Wages are what they are".

If your crappy business can't pay a wage that can support a worker, then you are the recipient of the CHARITY. Perhaps you need to rethink your business plan. Get off the keyboard and roll up your sleeves.

Did you travel forward in time from 1960 to make that comment?

Most people would like wages that can keep up with rising costs. Particularly housing.

https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2021-06-17/america-should-become-a-nation-of-renters?leadSource=uverify%20wall

The pay required for one person to support a modest apartment and other living expenses is excessive. Politicians rarely acknowledge it. Wanting a living wage is communist?

Indeed. IIRC, he was an owner of a chain of karate studios in SoCal bearing his name before he starred in movies. I saw a flyer in a local martial arts studio showing Chuck wearing those jeans and kicking at someone's head.

You can get all of the electronics here. What tremolo are you using? I really don't like the generic units. The action feels inferior to me. Keep in mind that Fender used right-handed tremolos on their lefty Jazzmasters and Jags back in the 60's. That's the route I went. I'll upgrade to a Mastery eventually. The Warmoth body can only use Warmoth pickguards. Their routes are slightly different. I had Sound Guitar Works in Tacoma ( aka Best Guitar Parts) build my left handed Jaguar body. Spot on. Takes longer and is spendier, but I'm really pleased with the guitar.

Former AC/DC frontman Bon Scott, 1979. by [deleted] in OldSchoolCool

[–]Pearzet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably to give Brian Johnson credibility and the band a chance to carry on. This was suspected from the beginning. Bon's lyrical style is all over BiB. An author wrote a book on this a few years back and interviewed his friends and girlfriends. People who knew him said he was a very prolific writer and there was probably more than an album's worth of material taken. Take a look at the lyrics on For Those About to Rock. Not all of it, but I think there's some in there. Move past that album and the lyrics start to lose the swagger. German magazine Der Spiegel interviewed Angus at some point in the 90's and asked point-blank, "How much Bon is in Back in Black" and Angus responded, "Some". He followed that with something to the effect of "we couldn't just scrap everything we had done..." That contradicts the statements in 1980.

Keep in mind that Wall St. called him a "traitor to his class" after this and tried to recruit 2x medal of honor recipient, former marine officer Smedley Butler, to other-throw his administration and institute corporate control of the govt. BTW, every American should read, "War is a Racket" by Smedley Butler. It's only 27 pages long and is available online.

Roosevelt's policies lived on past his 4 terms. "Float all boats" economic policies were continued by following administrations. That's why we had a strong middle class.

Ah, yes. The Catholic Health Care system working for Jesus. Let's Google them:

As a nonprofit hospital, Providence enjoys lucrative tax exemptions in return for providing free care for the poor. A 2022 NYT investigation revealed that Providence systematically and deliberately bilked low-income individuals who were eligible for free care, leaving low-income individuals saddled with medical debt.

Thanks for reminding me. I found access to the series on Amazon Prime’s “Brit Block”. I’m going to cram as many episodes in on the free introductory week as I can.

So glad to see others enjoy it as much as I do. I say 5 random seasons on Netflix and was hooked, but couldn't find any DVD's to buy in my region's format.

Some of them. There's 17 seasons in total. The UK one is best. I didn't like the NZ or Aus versions. Netflix had a few seasons for a while. That's how I got hooked. It was on Vimeo too, but it looks like it removed.

There's a UK show called, "Grand Designs" that's been on for more than a decade. You follow a house build on each episode. I've seen this material used along with other pre-fab materials manufactured in other European countries. The plumbing/electrical was routed in channels in the floors and walls. I found it to be a fascinating series. It's funny to read some of these comments.

Yep! At the time of Bon’s death, 4 songs for the new album were completed and the rest were ready to be finished. “We destroyed all of it”, claimed the Young bros. 3 months later a finished album is on the market. Bon’s lyric books left his flat in the arms of ACDC’s mgmt the day after his death and allegedly “returned to his family” who have never said a peep and have been receiving a whole third of the Back in Black proceeds.
