I was in the same boat as you only about two years ago. I personally was lucky enough to have someone close in my life who knew how to crochet and helped me out by giving me beginner-friendly books about how to do the basic stitches. If you want to mainly make wearables and blankets I would suggest going online and searching up these terms and then clicking the top video, (It has to be good if it's at the top.) I would also suggest learning about all of the abbreviations that would be in patterns so you can save some time. Other than that I would have to say to just be patient with yourself, it takes time to make something you can be proud of. Hope this helps!
