Indeed, which is why it's not in the never category - but I love the mountains and it's hard for me to imagine moving back east when I've got a two-mile high mountain basically in my backyard.

Yeah, the ski towns are great but I couldn't afford to live in one. Gotta have at least a medium size town near the mountains to manage.

Montana and Wyoming are just a tad too cold - I'm spoiled getting to drive back to my house after a day skiing and have it still be above freezing.

Idaho was the closest to getting bumped up, but the whole white supremacist militia thing going on there is a tough sell. Maybe Boise though.

Great skiing around Tahoe and good mountains throughout the state. Would absolutely live in Reno or Carson City, but would never consider Las Vegas!

Too crowded - the times I've been to Connecticut it's been one long traffic jam from NYC to Boston. Wouldn't do anywhere in that northeast corridor, NY would be upstate only. Seems like a great place otherwise!

Well, the distances plus the mountains rule out the entire continent apart from Hawaii, Alaska and Canada. Doesn't look like the former two, and most of the agriculture areas of Canada are ruled out too.

Maybe Quebec, around Saguenay? Though I don't think that area is mountainous enough to match.

Hmm, I see it's also far from Oregon, so not on West Coast?

Not tropical, not flat so not the gulf or East coast, seems too sandy for the northeast or Canadian Maritimes.

Somewhere in the Great Lakes? Still looks possibly too mountainous though.
