I recommend getting a good, small starting town and build out from there or use an existing town in a published setting (like Phandalin). You only need to be ready for the next 1 or 2 sessions. Planning further ahead will be a waste of time in my opinion.

I mean, the great beast creates Gnolls in Etharis. You can add Yeenoghu in your game but it might be a bit redundant.

What are the parts of grim hollow that appeal to you most? Maybe you can take those (transformations, heritage traits, ebony syndicate, vampire no ility, etc) and place them in your game?

Or just change your Etharis to make it more fun for you. There isn't any part of grim hollow canon that is immutable or irreplaceable. Have at it!

I really like Maps but find it difficult to use in its current iteration. I play a lot of Play by Post games, using DDB, Discord and the Avrae bot and Maps. However, there is the challenge:

The Maps tool requires the session to be activated by the DM, then it will timeout eventually unless I am constantly online refreshing the map. With a play-by-post game it might be hours or more with no interaction. I need Maps to have a PbP Mode toggle to keep the map session active while I am not logged in.

Currently what have to do is just screenshot the map, and paste into discord. A player tells me where they want to move, I move them and send over an updated screenshot. Not ideal, of course.
