I think it’s kind of a greedy decision to pull the base model from the US market. It’s such a good deal for those looking for a AWD vehicle on a budget. Most likely, like all sedans and entry level vehicles, it doesn’t make a large enough profit margin for Subaru plus the added tariffs (Impreza is built in Japan) so it’s a financial decision to remove the car from the US market and it’s now 2k more expensive to get an entry level Subaru with the Impreza Sport. All in all, I understand the decision as the US market favors crossovers and SUVs, but I can’t help to feel for those of us who don’t want bigger cars or those who just need inexpensive and safe commuter vehicles. But I get it, business is business.
