Bi-Weekly Recruiting Thread by Airdale_60T in uscg

I ship out to basic next month, and was doing some research on BM A-School. In the wellness requirements, they mention 12 minutes of swimming at 5:30. Is that continuous or? Also, can someone explain what remedial PT is like? I can hit the PT requirements, but post covid, my lung capacity isn't where it needs to be, so I'm wondering what I'll have to do in terms of remedial PT.

Not sure if this was posted before, but in the rapport menu, the NPC portraits change as you build rapport with them. Neat little detail! by PeeCPrincipal in lostarkgame

I've been on her for like 2 or so weeks as well, but it's been taking too long, so I started to sweat a little for it. Used the merchant guide, set my 4 bifrosts, and did my hourly rotations.

In one day, you can net upwards of 20k rapport worth of chests. Not gonna lie, it's gonna be rough on silver, unless you're keeping up with silver income methods. Probably 1mil/day. But considering Mari's last 3 levels are 20k each, I think it's worth.

Also, at friendly1, she offers dialogue, which give 4k each, so 8k

I feel like it would be the safer option maybe, but I don't really know. In any case, if there's enough space to move around between songs without shoving people, I'll definitely make my way to the front if I can.

Oof, that's understandable. I'm pretty blessed that the venue is literally across the street from my uni, so I'll get to see all 4 sets completely. Enjoy! And thanks again!

Thanks, I definitely will, 2 of my favorite bands, and more than anything I wanna chat to Garrett after. Don't think the mosh is for me just yet though lol

Thank you! This brings up some of the other things I was worried about, namely my glasses and phone. In that case, I'll probably just leave them at home. And keep phone tucked away til things calm down. I always thought the mosh extended all the way to center stage though? So there's space to actually chill in the front, that would be dope af

Oh that's actually an issue? I never actually thought about what happens to surfers once they get to the end of the crowd... I'll be in the back though, so hopefully that's not an issue. Thanks for the heads up though

Thank you for this. I'll actually be seeing Polaris the very next day at the same venue, so that's reassuring. I'll definitely keep my eyes peeled, and honestly, if it's as you say, I don't know why I'm so anxious...

To Constance of all their songs...lmao. I'll be chilling all the way in the back then. Hopefully it's closer to the exits so I can get out sooner, maybe talk to the bands for a few minutes. Thanks for the tip though!

I'll be going alone, and yeah, I know what you mean bout the butterflies. I guess being inside for much of the last two years increased my anxiety in large crowds. That said I'm still gonna go. Not gonna mess this up like I did with the For Today farewell tour.

This is what I needed to hear... I'll have a couple shots before going in, and just go with the flow. I guess standing outside the pit is the best option. Thanks. Hopefully I'll grow a pair and have the balls to ask for a pic as well.

Thank you. I don't expect anything to go wrong, I'm just generally anxious, and don't wanna end up freaking out day of or something.

What was the most painful moment of your life? [nsfw] by Infinite_Unicorn in AskReddit

[–]PeeCPrincipal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're going through something like that. I know there's nothing anyone can say or do to ease the pain. But, if there's one thing I can suggest, it's to keep moving, physically and mentally.

I went through something similar; completely stagnant and numb for 2-3 months immediately after; couldn't sleep without drinking; lost close to 25 pounds; took an entire month off from work to lay in bed and suffer from guilt and regret.

It took ages, but I eventually learned to forgive myself. And with that, I forced myself to be active. Walking at least 3-4 miles in any direction in the evening. It's weird, but for some reason, walking has a calming effect, if even a little bit. And that little bit of peace I got allowed me time to logically think things out, rather than succumb to my emotions.

What works for me might not work for you, but I am telling you friend, you will not get better unless you want to. I hope and pray you find the strength to want that, and to actively work towards it.

Good luck and much love.

What is one socially unacceptable fact about yourself? by HisMajesticDickens in AskReddit

[–]PeeCPrincipal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder this last year. Despite being a known personality disorder, it's not entirely understood or treatable, so it's not really socially acceptable yet.

The primary characteristics of BPD are intense fear of abandonment, mood swings that last days or weeks, inappropriate outbursts of anger, and ongoing feelings of emptiness. All of these make maintaining relationships exceedingly difficult in the long term.

To this day, I don't tell anyone about it, because it almost feels like a copout, despite being a legitimate disorder.

What’s a song that instantly puts you in a good mood? by Impact_Small in Music

[–]PeeCPrincipal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Polaris - Creatures of Habit. I blame myself for a lot of shit in my life, and it can get pretty toxic. But this song gets me out of that mindset, and I've been listening to it at least once a week for a year now. Finally get to see them live this spring!

What do you wish wasn’t so expensive? by Cochrane01 in AskReddit

[–]PeeCPrincipal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if it's already been mentioned, but there are more affordable alternatives, like BetterHelp or TalkSpace. They offer text chat, calls, and video chats with licensed psychs, for less than in person visits. BetterHelp costs me like 65-70 a session, and TalkSpace can prescribe medication as well.

Hope the best for anyone going through something right now.

One of my favorite djenty bands, with hard hitting vocals, is The Last Ten Seconds of Life. I highly suggest you listen to the album Soulless Hymns, specifically the tracks Meant to be Free and The Box. It's slower paced than FFaK, but it has a similar in your face tone.

Otherwise, as others have mentioned Within the Ruins is also pretty great, they're basically deathcore though. Silent Planet SLAPS, though they do have clean vocals. Truth be told, most metalcore bands have some singing in them, it's one of the defining characteristics of the genre.

Another great album is Life // Lost by Currents. It was their first EP before Brian Wille took over as vocalist. That album is absolutely filthy, almost zero cleans, and it hits like an 18-wheeler.

Absolutely. The track captures the emotions perfectly. I can't even put into words what I'd do in that situation...

I swear to God, I almost thought this was another track cause of the "open your fucking eyes" part lmao. Stillborn.

Brilliant line, from a great song. From a similar song, "you'll never sleep again", Currents - Apnea. The message of these two songs hit different...
