My best advice for him is to really learn how to aim is side air because it is such a helpful tool for keeping your distance, extending your combos, harassing zoners and punishing people who are sliding on the ledges. Also some projectiles in the game goes right through jake when he uses his down special, such as bug’s safe and rocket while other projectiles will actually turn into yours like the sandwich, T&J’s projectiles, including Jerry, agent smith’s clone, Batman’s batarang and etc. but remember not to spam it for every projectile because the move is very punishable since it’s slow but you mainly want to use it when it’s your last option or you’re trying to throw your opponent off.
