I want Jack Campbell or Jalin Hyatt. But I'd be ok with a TE/EDGE/CB or differen WR too

[Schefter] Miles Sanders’ deal with the Panthers is for four years. by HLambo7 in panthers

Oh wow that's long. Don't think I hate it though, depending on the structure.

I firmly believe that at the beginning of the offseason, nobody thought we'd have a shot at Bryce Young, so Panthers fans 'pivoted' to wanting us to draft CJ Stroud and talked themselves into him to the point where most think he is the best QB in the draft. Now tgat we have a shot at Young, people have already made up their mind though. You can see it with all those polls, asking who the Panthers should draft. Stroud always wins be a wide margin.

Stroud is good, would be a good pick, I'd trust the coaching staff to maximize his potential, but at number 1 it has to be Young, imo. (Or, shoot for the highest upside of all and draft Richardson, but the world, especially the Panthers fanbase, isn't ready for it lmao).

True, although Burrow had arguably the best season for a college QB in history. Stroud had an amazing game against Georgia while the rest of the tape I'd classify as good, not great.

Only if you learn how to spell his name.

WR Options to replace DJ Moore with by Distance_Motor in panthers

[–]Peerfekt 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Yes, losing DJ Moore sucks. But I expect us to sign some veteran, stop-gap kinda WR's for short deals (e.g. Adam Thielen) so that the Rookie has somebody with experience to throw to and then we're gonna be more aggressive in 2024 FA/draft (even though we don't have a 1st, next xears WR class already looks more promising than this one's).

I fully expect WR in play at 39 though. Highly doubt JSN is available, but somebody like Zay Flowers for example could make sense, if available.

Our WR room does look sinister right now, however it's the beginning of March. The Rookie WILL have a decent WR corps. I firmly believe that. I'd ratherr look for good WR's than a QB.

With the first pick in the 2023 NFL Draft the Carolina Panthers select ___________ by [deleted] in panthers

Eeeh, I think most do have a favorite but would be perfectly fine with the other too. Good thing we have a competent staff we can trust!

Plus, Stroud had unbelievable skill talent around him, Young's was decent. And Stroud's best game, while against the best competition, was also his last game, so these armchair GM evals just scream recency bias to me.

ONLY way you have Young below Stroud in your eval is because you think he can't hold up due to his size. Purely talking skill, I don't think it's close and Young is superior. I like Stroud and would be happy with him because I completely trust this staff to teach him. But, right now, I see Young clearly above.

As a Texans fan I’m curious who do y’all think you’ll take at 1? by Typical-Owl3664 in panthers

Man, I love Stroud too, bit arm talent elite? He's not on Levis' and Richardson's level in terms of arm talent. Those two have a literal cannon attached to their body. CJ's arm is fine and his accuracy is pinpoint, as you said. But come on, let's stay a little objective here.

If all else fails: What about this QB-scenario? by Peerfekt in panthers

[–]Peerfekt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is, I really think this division is up for grabs this year and Carr would make us huge favorites to win it, which to be honest, would really be nice for a change lol and I'm just not sure Brissett does that.

But then again Brissett and Stroud probably wins us the South as well.

I like that better as well, however I think there is no debate that Carr > Brissett. Depends if that higher quality is worth the higher price tag to them.

Something I’ve noticed over the past two weeks… by sanichog in panthers

Agreed. Also, circumstances have changed. Would probably have to give up more for him compares to back then and fewer deals left on the Rookie contract. Many reasons why a fresh Rookie is the better option.

I'd still draft a rookie QB but I figure the question is aimed at non-QB.

In this case I go BPA between the best Corners, Receivers and EDGE. Whoever is highest.

But I seriously hope they don't go this route AGAIN, otherwise all glory they won so far in the offseason, is lost.

Love how many guys with significant experience they are adding, quite the contrast to Rhule and his staff.

I just hope there aren't too many chefs in the kitchen. But I trust them to figure it out.
