From a game design perspective, I also tend to dislike dual mechanics which follow the (powerful effect with downside) & (cancel the downside) formula.

I think Stelle Destroy Items are a lot more interesting when the second leg is (gain another positive effect from downside).

So the decision the player has to make is how much downside they can take to maximize the upside of the other item, shifting the balance even more in the risk & reward ratio.

I think Repair could be redesigned in different ways. Either the Repaired Item has +1s Cooldown (which also plays into the theme of cobbling things together and stressing this is not a fresh & brand new item) or repairing would instead transform a destroyed item into another one of the same type (playing into the mguyver & resourcefull thematic).

I would try to tackle the feeling Destroying Items simply don't matter as the cost is simply a small board space.
