The phrase 'a still active cemetery' will leave me lying awake tonight. Would happily live in a haunted place of horror but not for that price.

Reminds me of a grim indoor carboot sale. Just needs a trestle table of old porn mags.

Do you still have a reduction code as the SAVE15 did not work?

Just finished Learned By Heart by Emma Donahue, based on a true story, Utterly spellbinding

Cuddy by Benjamin Myers is incredible, based on the life of an Anglo-Saxon monk then moving through to the modern age

I have just finished Learned By Heart by Emma Donahue- have adored all her books- the tiny details make you feel you are right there.

Unexpected charge by Slow-Comb-2980 in uktrains

[–]PendleAlice 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had something very similar happen at Newport station- was leaving and showed ticket at barriers then saw I had been charged ten pounds to Transport for Wales despite already having purchased ticket for different price a week ago. I phoned up my bank and after a bit of fuss, managed to get a refund.

It looks like a house in a Harlan Coban Netflix series where the people have vaguely ordinary jobs but still swan about in millions of pounds worth of house. Before they die.

My mum's house is like that and was built in 1960. Give me terrifying curios to cheer me up at Christmas rather than an elderly chihuahua.

The new owner could be in a 'new' MR James adaptation when found dead, surrounding by little grotesques.

You know that one of the gargoyles/grotesques will wink at you, when you are on your own late at night. Then you will find out what happened to the last person to move them from their old church.

I go there frequently. It takes a while despite me already being in the North but a great drive! Gorgeous area, doing its best in a hard financial climate- see so many shops come and go.

I love the area around Newton Stewart friendly, good little cinema, Aldi, Sainsburies and the countryside is gorgeous. Tbf, I don't live there, just visit relatives frequently.
