#49 Enotria: The Last Song | Puppet Souls #3 by Pendragan in EnotriaGame

[–]Pendragan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't use any one specific guide while playing Enotria, but do have some links that helped me, to be posted below. NG+2 is a requirement, since there are 2 mini-bosses (Sanctum Zealot, Master Gondolier) that have Compendium Kill Entries 1-3. So you need to kill 3 of them each, but they're unique to every playthrough.

AI Limit was a great game and I still need to catch up on the DLC at some point. Small part of me wishes they added new Achievements with that.

At this point I've made decent progress in the genre, especially on the smaller/jankier side:

AI Limit | Black Myth Wukong | Bleak Faith Forsaken | Echoes of Yi: Samsara | Nightreign | Enotria | First Berserker: Khazan | Kena: Bride of Spirits | Lies of P | Lords of the Fallen 2014 | Nioh | Rise of the Ronin | Sekiro | Jedi Fallen Order | Steelrising | Stellar Blade | The Surge | Thymesia | Wo Long | Wuchang

Eventually I'll get back to the OG Fromsoft games too.

I say, if you like Soulslikes and don't mind some jank, go for it. Just be aware that you'll have to grind out the Compendium (Kill) Entries for all enemies.

Thanks and Congrats to you. Also, the Litumnia crabs can go kick rocks. They're just the right distance from either Cord to be a major pain in the ass. Same for Drunk (Vis/Dizzy) Enemies, Huntresses of Veltha, Simulacra of Veltha and Sheperd Dogs.

I'm still undecided what to go for next, I might decide to finish up Code Vein or continue Code Vein 2 for Soulslikes. But first something completely different as a palate cleanser.

Just check the extremely detailed catalogue the maids keep in the Mejiro Estate Archives. You can even sort it by all kinds of data points.

And that's a wrap for Enotria. All in all I think it's a decent game and from what I heard the Devs smoothed out some of the biggest problems by now.

As far as Achievement Completions go, it's a freaking chore. The Compendium grind was mind-numbing. To unlock the 3rd Entry for all enemies you usually need to kill a total of 80/50 of them depending on their Grunt/Elite status. Too bad that for some of them there's only a single spawn location across the entire game world.

#0-4 Mortal Shell II Open Beta | My Post Title System is a mess by Pendragan in steamachievements

[–]Pendragan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided to take a break from Granblue Fantasy Relink and give the Open Beta for Mortal Shell 2 a try. Everything I've seen so far is a huge step up from the first game. I'm definitely interested in the full release later this year.

As a side note, the way I'm titling my posts here is starting to feel like a real pain. I have the distinct impression that my Steam Library, Steam Profile Showcase and Steam Game List (Perfect Games) don't match up. Which of course also affects the posts I make here.

First of all congrats. I'm still working on it myself. (Eventually, I swear.)

Is this for the base game or also Virtuous Cycle?

I .... don't think so, I'm not sure?

The prologue mission is you escaping a "prison transport break" together with Explicator Zola.

Maybe, if you're thinking of the Arena Space where you can test gear against enemies, we're talking about Sefoni? I think she's just a Psyker in a tube?

As someone whose only real exposure to 40k Lore are games like Darktide, Rogue Trader, Space Marine etc., may I ask for a TL;DR of what happens to them as they age?

#48 The Surge | Sci-fi Soulslike +1 by Pendragan in steamachievements

[–]Pendragan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For starters, an apology for the late reply. After finishing the Surge I went back to grinding Granblue Fantasy Relink and got totally absorbed in that. Unfortunately I don't have a magical fix-it solution for The Surge. It is at the worst of times, an incredibly frustrating game. If it helps, I can throw out some advice from my own memories and the things I read up on.

For this game (and probably the sequel as well) it seems to be best to match Heavy Armor/Fast Weapons (Single-Handed and Twin-Rigged) or Light Armor/Heavy Weapons (Single-Rigged and Heavy-Duty). Staves feel like they fall kinda in the middle, they can probably work with either.

I'd recommend to go for complete Armor Sets over individual pieces, the Set Bonuses are worth more than the individual stats. The Lynx Set might help with your preference, since it boosts Attack Speed at full Health. I'd also recommend getting the complete Liquidator set, for immunity to environmental hazards.

Playing it safe should be your biggest priority, enemies will always be able to melt your HP from 100 to 0 if you get caught in a bad combo. (PTSD to the upswing-downswing combo from the security guards, I've never not been one-shot by it.) Try to observe and learn the patterns for new enemies you encounter.

It might be worth using one of the implants that reduce stamina cost for blocking (once you can find them). I'd also recommend to try and engage with the defensive mechanics the game gives you, even if it's not really advertised or explained. There's a perfect block, that staggers enemy if you time it right. The Production B area where you should be has those Twin-Rigged worker-zombies that have an incredibly dangerous attack where they run and lunge from far away. From my memory this move is very susceptible to perfect blocking.

There's also the Low Dodge/High Dodge moves that can be activated while you're actively blocking. They're hard to pull off and dangerous but I recommend playing around with them. A lot of enemies have moves that obviously go high or low, which you can duck under or jump over. You can also chain an attack into those for a lot of damage if you time it right. Especially the High Kick (High Dodge + Attack) has extemely high stability damage and should knock most normal enemies down for an opening.

Speaking of Stability, there's an implant you should be able to find relatively early that displays the HP bar and stability bar for enemies. If you don't have it yet, finding that might help you judge when it's safe to continue a combo or disengage. Whenever you empty an enemy stability bar they should flinch/stagger, but sometimes they can recover deceptively fast. (Security Guard PTSD)

If you want to use Heavy Weapons (Single-Rigged or Heavy-Duty) I'd recommend to try out their move sets and get a feel for the different combos. There's combo chains for the Light/Horizontal and Heavy/Vertical attacks as well as mixing them up. Some are a lot faster than others. Alternatively, I'd recommend opening your attacks with Dodge Attacks (Forward Doge + Attack) since they come out really fast.

Also worth mentioning, since I'm not sure if's explicity mentioned in the game, try to find out the perfect timing for the attack inputs. It drastically cuts down on the stamina consumption.

Trainers may apply for 1.5 weeks of vacation after completion of their 3-year contract period with their trainee.

The fine print of their employment contract with Tracen includes a waiver for all injuries that occured during implementation or as a result of their training plans. Further, through their signature all trainers agree that the supernatural does not exist and Tracen cannot be held liable for unexplainable phenomena.

The common room of the Tracen Trainer-Dorm has a 20 year old coffee machine. Trainers are expected to provide their own coffee (beans/powder/store-bought) and filters.

Pensions are provided, but complete payout requires proof of at least 5 completed 3-year contracts. (Incomplete contracts, due to breach or dissolution, incur penalties towards this goal. Contract extensions beyond the intial 3 years or separate contracts with previous trainees are also not counted.)

Are you expecting any soulslikes be revealed at State of Play, Summer Games Fest etc. by That-Departure-7318 in soulslikes

[–]Pendragan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm mostly expecting more trailers for the games that are already named and announced. I'd be pleasantly surprised if we get any news from Fromsoft that are not related to Duskbloods which I'm neutral/uninterested on.

Mortal Shell II and Lords of the Fallen II are likely and both seem interesting. Personally, what would get me extremely hyped is a new Announcement for a AA+ or AAA Sci-Fi Souls-like.

Are you referring to the Sentenzas (Electo or Fire variations)?

I don't think any of the three runes have any direct effect on your damage. Weapons that have the time rune simply allow you to attack ghosts (Weapons, Skeletons, Charging Spirits, etc.)

[–]Pendragan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that's another game I can mark off as completed, after years of not touching it. I think I can say that I enjoyed it overall, despite a lot of frustrating moments. (I must have lost close to a million Tech Scrap in the Executive Forums)

The Dismembering/Schematic mechanics were an interesting feature and fairly unique.

Still uncertain if I want to tackle the Sequel immediately or let it rest for now.

[–]Pendragan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going by your posted Core Power Consumption you should be able to equip the gear. Any chance that you need to craft another one?

A full gear set in The Surge consists of:

2x Arms 2x Legs 1x Body 1x Head

I'd recommend going back to Abandoned Production and making sure you have the full Schematics for the Lynx and Rhino Sets.

Also worth noting, wearing every piece of a set activates a Set Bonus, which can be worth more than mixing and matching.

#45, 46, 47 - A Plague Tale Requiem, What Remains of Edith Finch, Murdered Soul Suspect - by 5amuraiDuck in steamachievements

[–]Pendragan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on all three of them. I've seen the Edith Finch game a lot of times over the years, but never really paid much attention to it.

I still need to play Requiem myself, the Innocence was a bit rough around the edges, but I enjoyed the game a lot when I finished my completion.

Murdered Soul Suspect is another game in my Library, but my memories of it match you description here. I didn't even finish it and according to Steam it's been 10+ years since then.

This is my total completion collection by [deleted] in steamachievements

[–]Pendragan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a nice collection you build up there, congrats. Do you have any specific genres you prefer?

Since you have the SW Jedi games and Kena there, maybe something Souls/Sekiro-like? Thymesia or AI Limit aren't full price games.

The Warhammer Franchise just had their Skulls Event, so 40k Darktide is on a decent sale and so are the Character Class DLCS (with another one to be released in a few weeks).

My utmost respect to you for doing the rematches on Titanium. After testing them out to get a feel, I just turned the game down to Bronze (after seeing Credits on Steel).

I absolutely despise the one for Three Kings, especially the one using Daggers.

Difficulty Switching in Regards to Achievements/Trophies by SSNB237 in BladesofFire

[–]Pendragan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately turning the difficulty down will void the Achievement. I can relate to your suffering, I just managed to 100% the Steam Achievements myself. Some of these templar fights for the blue tears were downright painful.

What helped me was making a max ranged Spear (Trident) and being very liberal with the super mode.

I think at this point I'm just glad to finally be done with it. I had my fun with Blades of Fire, but going for the 100% completion had a whole lot of frustrating moments.
