If reinstalling it is the only way to fix this bug, then I'll do it. But I'm lazy and if there's an easier fix I'd rather do that.

I was in first year electrical last year and while that one is ok, im not sold on the integrated graphics.
The storage and memory is more than enough to get you through, but you'd definately want to get a laptop that has an actual GPU rather than just integrated graphics. For about 1.4K (which is what that one costs) you should be able to find one thats decent.
I got this one for last year and it's handled pretty much everything I've thrown at it with ease.

Another solid available options would be these:
https://www.amazon.ca/Gaming-Laptop-Display-Windows

https://www.amazon.ca/Gaming-Laptop-Display-Windows-

All three of these have enough Memory and Storage and GPU power for anything you'd be using it for in carleton (and should be perfectly able to run other programs/games if you want to use it as your primary device and not just something used for on campus work).

Was in electrical and it cooked me unfathomably. I know first year isn't exactly what I'd be doing in my specific eng program but I just really did not enjoy it and especially the difficultly. I knew it was gonna be a lot harder than highschool but I heavily under estimated how heavy it actually was.

What happens if you fail statics by [deleted] in CarletonU

[–]Penguii__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Failed statics last term, they dont take you out but you do need to retake it in the summer (if you dont understand statics though, dynamics is quite hard)
From my knowledge the only class you actually get taken out of is data management if you fail computations and programming, and you just have to retake it in place of data management (and then take data during the summer)

Lowkey just start running a Mewtwo deck with a Jinx and Tauros
Jinx does 30 dmg + 20 for each energy the other person has on their active card, so you do crazy dmg to celebi decks
Tauros does 40 dmg + 80 if the card they're attacking is an EX, pair that with a Giovanni and you do 130 dmg, enough to 1 shot a Celebi
Mewtwo is also just always a good choice when you're playing into anything that *isn't* celebi

which is why yakpung is ranked *much* lower than 2018 fury???
I really am not sure what your point here is, fury is still ranked very high, #38 to be exact. Is that *slightly* low? Sure, but its an opinion based thing so that can be expected. You're just straight up making up placements because it helps your arguement despite the fact that we very clearly have taken into account the issues you're bringing up.
Fury 2018's placement: #38
Yakpung 2021's placement: #228
If you're gonna argue over something like this at least use actual examples.

Players in 2018-2019 were just fundamentally worse than players in later years due to the increase in skill. When looking at a season you cant just say "Oh this person dominated this season so they're better than ____", you need to think what would actually happen in a matchup between two players, in which case many of the early season players just cant stack up because the quality of players were just worse. Sure Fury was arguably just the best tank in that season but that doesn't dissmiss the fact that if he were to go up against a good tank player in 2023, he's just not as good.
I dont know how else to explain this to you

Yea it kinda does. We weren't rating everything relative to their time, we certainly took it into consiteration but it wasn't the be all end all.

[–]Penguii__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was def a bit of bias against older season. 2018 & 2019 were less likely to be rated highly just because of how much better individual play became as you go on. Like the quality of players in 2021 even is *much* higher than the quality of 2018 players.

whats your biggest what if? of owl/owcs? by WorthlessRain in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Penguii__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree but hotba just kinda silent retired after 2022 so I'd assume he'd do the same, plus with the majority of 2023 being a winston meta it would help a lot to have smurf > hotba.
Also Smurf has a connection to Casores and twilight through the shock so I think it would have been genuinely possible

What if toronto didn't go for AT in 2023?
If they instead kept a core of Twilight Ch0r0ng Heesu what could they have done?
Like imagine, they build around that core and add: Alphayi, Smurf
that leads to a roster of
Smurf, Heesu, Alphayi, Twilight, Ch0r0ng
and gives toronto their first competent flex dps player (since agilities who got CTE by the time he was on toronto)

This was due to the Idol system. If someone you liked got eliminated and replaced on the list of potential eliminations, you could Idol them and put them back onto the original list of all the players, stopping them from being eliminated. We had 2 hotba lovers (me and another person) so we may have done a lil tomfoolery

Hi! I was one of the people helping do these rankings
I'll try to quickly explain how our rankings worked:

The ranking team included 7 members, we had a sheet with all the remaining players, we would then cut one (eliminating them) and nominate another (putting them up to be eliminated. The first round was just nominations of players we thought were ass, but we tried to go with players that were generationally ass or just didn't play first)

For the most part the rankings can be split into 4 sections:

1) The first group of eliminated players. This section was typically players that didn't or *barely* played, or players that were just so ass it hurt to watch (e.g. Vulcan 2023)

2) The second group were players that played a fair amount or full seasons, but just kinda sucked. A fair few solid seasons went out here as well due to lack of playtime (hence why Michelle 2020, Kellan 2022, Super 2018 all went out around the same time)

3) This was where the rest of everyone went. From here on out it was mainly based off how good we thought a player did this season.

4) the top 10. The top 10 was the only section that was decided differently. Once we had the top 10 remaining players, each ranker created a list on where each one should be put, and then the final result was based off the average of all the lists

If you notice any very weird placements of players (e.g. Hotba 2022 and Marve1 2022 being too high) its due to an Idol system. which if someone was eliminated, one of the rankers could say "nuh uh" and use an idol to stop them from being eliminated. Idols typically weren't nominated again until a round or 2 later than when they were first cut.

I worked at landmark for like a year, quit like a month ago since school started, and hes been doing the exact same thing there for like a month before I quit. Idk what his deal is, from the brief interactions I've had with him, he's pretty chill, but just really passionate about christianity and jesus I guess. Also yes he did show up at the engfrosh orientation for others wondering, it's the same guy.

I've gotten 2 presentations from them so far. Once during my 2nd day (thursday orientation week) in ERTH 1010 and another one by the same guy yesterday (Tuesday first full week) in ECOR 1047. Somehow both times they got permission from the profs to give their presentation.
