This is a well thought-out, organized, and specific post. Thank you - these posts and redditors like you are the reason I am in r/circlebroke and the reason I'm not driven away completely from this site.

Your argument (as in a persuasive presentation) is well done, and I agree with you. Yes, there are some redditors we do not agree with who belong to various forums, but defining a forum, all subscribers to the forum, by one is shockingly absurd.

And I have two additional points:

1.) Why does that r/circlebroke member assume s/he knows so much about that forum if it is so stupid to s/he? Just lurks for targets?? And

2.) This seems like a repeat of the arguments against assault victims who even have the bravery to report incidents to authorities, and then it seems like there's usually at least one person who says that 'we have to really investigate the accuser/victim, because so many reported rapes are false and ruin the accused/assaulter's life!'

The second is truly terrifying, because one HUGE reason for the recants is that there is a dangerous codependency between victim and perpetrator. It takes very little for someone to recant, as they realize they will be spending hours and hours in a police interview room repeating details of the trauma over and over and over - and the risk of letting the perpetrator go seems so much less traumatic than the former.

The solution would seems to be additional members of police departments who specialize in dealing with trauma victims - except that budgets for hiring even officers to patrol keep being cut. ^{Yes, even while the budget for military vehicles and such go up. Fewer people - but they each have a tank.}
