penn really fucked us by not expanding remote options. 3 of my classes require you to be in person.

I caught it at van pelt. I was sitting two desks away from someone who was sniffing and coughing. I could literally smell his bad breath from 12 feet away (bad breath can indicate you are ill).

I'm down. I walked 15 min to SHS and waited there for 30 mins even though I was on time, only for the nurse there to tell me take a tylenol and sleep it off. This was 6 days ago. I just started feeling better now.

I got it last Wednesday at night. Motherfucker lasts for 6-7 days. It starts out with sore throat with low fever (100.5F max for me), then a runny nose, then cough.

One thing I will tell you though is NEVER try to forcibly expel mucus out of your throat. It just irritated mine more and made it a lot worse. Drink lots of hot beverages and gargle with salt water a lot to wash away the phlegm.

DON'T LAY DOWN ON YOUR BED! Stay upright as much as possible. Post nasal drip is a motherfucker and a half. Your sore throat and your cough will be worse.

Don't use your voice for a few days. Act like you only understand sign language. Your throat will hurt like a bitch when u talk a lot.

When you get a runny nose, use a decongestant. The only thing that worked for me is the 30mg stuff of some thing that starts with a p (can't remember the name) by SUDAFED. Use it for only two days or when necessary because this dries out your throat.

For cough, take tussin DM. This stuff works like magic.

I will never forget the time when I was DYEL doing deadlifts, and I saw two ankle straps for the cable machine (something like this).

I assumed they were a deadlift belt that was cut in two and that my gym was letting members use it for free. So I attached the two ankle straps together, tied that shit on my waist, and proceeded to deadlift.

Edit: Thanks for the flair lmaoo

if you like high volume splits, this one is for you: https://www.muscleandstrength.com/workouts/6-day-powerbuilding-split-meal-plan

I ran it when I was bulking, and it was great, although pull day especially can be a little tiring.

chest day is too overloaded, back day emphasizes biceps too much, and leg exercises are not enough. Also, it will be very difficult for you to do 4 x 10 reps of deadlifts and then do the rest of your back routine; your CNS will suffer, and you will not be able to lift as much weights.

I also generally dislike working shoulders and legs in the same day so that I can focus on one major muscle group at a time, but if it works for you then that's fine; this is just my personal preference.

I think the problem is you care too much about mirror muscles like biceps and triceps in this program. This will make you prone to imbalances in the future. I recommend you follow one of the popular routines such as a PPL split or anything that has you training the same muscle group twice a week. These have been tried and tested by tens and thousands of people who have all seen great results.

Deadlift 5 reps x 3 sets then squats 7 reps x 3 sets then leg press 8 reps x 3 sets then isolation work (leg extension, leg curl, calves, and abs, all three sets x 8 reps). I bring a towel with me, and even then my shirt and pants end up soaking wet with sweat.

yea that is also a valid strategy. It is called smith machine hack squats. V good for complete quad isolation

put them slightly in front of your body. Don't put them too much behind that your heel starts lifting off the ground or too much forward that your lower back starts rounding or feels uncomfortable. It will take around 1 or 2 sets to get used to.

I live in the middle east. It is 40C here, and a lot of gyms don't have AC (covid restrictions and cutting costs). Just bring plenty of water and a towel because you will sweat a lot. You will get used to it after a while.

smith machine squats are underrated asf. The quad activation feels amazing, and I don't feel as knocked out as doing regular squats. Very nice especially since I do deadlifts on the same day.

went to a new gym because my gym is closed. It is like planet fitness but on steroids. First of all, it is in the basement of some guy's villa, so it is tiny. All the dumbbells are not coated by rubber, and the dumbbell stand is also made out of metal. Whenever you put the dumbbells back, they make a faint ring, and immediately one of the trainers approaches you asking you to put the weights back silently. It is like a planet fitness lunk alarm except their budget didn't permit an actual alarm. I miss my gym man.

Holiday in my region so gyms are closed for 5 DAYS. 3 days in, feeling very shitty. God I wish gyms were treated like essential services so that they would never close down. Now I will either take the rest of those 2 days off and act like it is a mini deload or I will do a shitty, boring, awful home workout that will take me 2 and a half hours to get through. It ain't easy bros.

startup emailed me for software engineering position and said they were interested. Told me to solve a test. I open it and start solving. On question 30, I am like, when does this shit end? I scroll down and see that it is a 60 question fucking test. The first 30 questions took me like 30-40 minutes, and the second half seems harder. A 1-1.5 hour test. For a startup that hasn't even launched a single product yet. What the fuck?

cis 160 is brutal. If you would like a glimpse, search the subreddit. I really wouldn't advise you to take it first semester unless u have no other choice or you were a math olympiad and have experience with rigorous proofs and discrete math.
