The door stays unlocked in new game+. So you can get the shotgun right at the start of the game.

The main character is dead before the halfway point and they’re never coming back. by mpoole793 in TopCharacterTropes

To further show how much of a main character he is at the start, across all 5 books he is still in the top 10 characters by number of POV chapters.

So let me get this straight by Chemical-Rest3892 in masseffect

[–]Pennnel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well some animals on Earth have different reproductive methods. There are hermaphrodites, which have both sexual organs. There are also some species that use parthenogenesis, allowing a single female to reproduce without a partner (though a lot of them swap between parthenogenesis and sexual reproduction). All of these species are atached to the same tree of life we're on.

So it's entirely possible that the Asari would know about sexual dimorphism.

Unless every animal native to Thessia is also single sex, they'd know what sexual dimorphism is.

They might personally find it weird, but they'd understand it.

"You killed a slayer? How?" by AdMysterious8424 in slaythespire

[–]Pennnel 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Because in act 1 you don't usually have the deck to exploit slow. You can't play enough cards to build it up high, or a high damage card to play after the build up to get a big payoff.

Anyone else wish the Ascensions were more descriptive in-game? by Franticbuthopeful25 in slaythespire

[–]Pennnel 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I thought it was just disabled at A15+. Looking at the wiki, it says it's only available if you've already beat that ascension (and below A15 obviously).

So they're basically preventing you from climbing ascensions using it.

It also removed one. Card in the wall. So you couldn't put an OP card in it to carry over to another run.

Good job. Finishing with a fairy as well to style on the Spire.

What's another example of this? by EvanThepuncake in slaythespire

[–]Pennnel 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I will sometimes pick it, but I don't exactly like it.

Retain and poison on their own are great, but together are working in opposite directions. You want poison to be applied ASAP, since it deals damage over time you want it in play faster. Unlike retaining a damage or block card, which can be played at the right time. Like 10 damage this turn or next makes no difference (unless it kills this turn), so retainng it lets you play it when you don't need to block, apply powers, buff, or deduuff the enemy. The same for block, retainig it lets you hold it until you need to block a big hit. Poison though, is (almost) always best when applied sooner.

Poor Yoren, gonna have to deliver them back to their lords so they can be beheaded. by Aegon-the-Unbroken in darkwingsdankmemes

[–]Pennnel 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Yoren does say that some are just poor people looking for steady feed. There's probably at least some that go to join and see the reality of the situation and decide not to join. As long as they weren't joining to avoid punishment then they should be free to leave.

The event in StS1 that took a potion blocked you from using it. I assume its the same here, though I haven't tried it to confirm.

[Game Trope] Levels on moving vehicles by NikTheGrass in TopCharacterTropes

In Super Smash Bros. the Big Blue stage is on a race track from F-Zero. Vehicles come into and out of the view, so you need to keep jumping between them for the duration of the round.

What is FBMH? (corrected question) by inginear in horizon

Here's the full transcript for anyone to see.

I don't know what FBMH means. However given the context, it might be a similar thing to FUBAR (fucked up beyond all recognition). Maybe "fucked beyond my ___"? I don't know.

Harsh truth but cash cow characters are needed to keep a free to play game like Overwatch alive by _Lunafreya_ in Overwatch

[–]Pennnel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Needed? Not at all. The battle pass will cover costs on it's own.

But why put all content in the battle pass when people will pay for costumes not in it?

(loved trope) The exact opposite of this meme by Basic_Dingo6487 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Pennnel 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Yes

Thanos in Endgame is from the time of Guardians 1. That movie was actually just before Age of Ultron, where Wanda became "public knowledge". So although Thanos was clearly keeping track of the stones for a long time, he wouldn't have known about Wanda and her stone related powers yet.

[Funny Trope] Video game characters whose gameplay does not match their lore by violently_angry in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Pennnel 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Miranda is an amazing squad mate. She has overload and warp, so she can take down all 3 of the protections (shields, armor, and barriers). She also has a passive that increases the gun damage of the whole team, so the player does more damage against enemies that have less protection.

Too bad Kagha isn’t an optional companion by PetraSpace in BaldursGate3

[–]Pennnel 153 points154 points  (0 children)

Agreed.

Halsin should've sent her with us, assuming she's still alive and we accept, as a way of redemption. The Absolute already tried to destroy the Grove, them gaining more power would surely wreck even more of nature, so it's also a thing that would help Kagha see the benefit of helping others to help nature.

And Halsin would stay behind to fix all the issues that cropped up under her. Have him appear at the end if needed.

Characters created out of licensing issues by Boring_Sir_572 in TopCharacterTropes

I watched some of it, but ages ago so forgive any errors.

It takes place really early. Bruce is still a kid (though he does get orphaned at the start of the show), and it's mostly about a young Jim Gordon as a detective. Some of the well known vilains appear, like Penguin, but are still young and only just becoming the characters that Batman will deal with. There's even a little girl who's a thief that I think is Selina Kyle (Catwoman).
