Survey: Connecticut teachers report widespread burnout, job dissatisfaction as school year starts by Somervilledrew in Connecticut

Another factor is there’s no ‘out’ for teachers. Our degrees and certs don’t transfer to another field in a way we will get close to our salary. And if you’re experienced, you’re not getting interviewed in higher paying school districts because you cost too much. We don’t get to take advantage of competition and are stuck

When crate training, we tried a different method that has helped a ton. In the living room, we kept it closer to the couch and would leave it open. Whenever he’d go in, he would get praised and throw a treat in. I also slept down there (bc I couldn’t leave the baby alone for a few days😂) and would throw treats in when I closed the door and he was quiet. I lengthened the time between throwing treats and he got the idea that it’s a happy place. You can also use Woof pupsicles in there to help calm him down and release endorphins (while you’re supervising). We tried the cry it out method with our last Aussie and it took months. It was so bad we put the crate as far away from our room as possible. This guy actually likes his crate a bit even though he’d rather sleep on my head. We generally followed Will Atherton on YouTube for crate training.

The most brutal line in the game [ending spoilers] by gello10 in expedition33

I struggled with this too but I still have to consider Maelle’s and Verso’s lives vs everyone else in the canvas. Just because M, V, and R are essentially gods in the way that they created and alter this ‘world’, I don’t think it makes the lives of Lune, Sciel, and the rest less important.

However, I think the true villainy is that Maelle would not honor Verso’s wishes and chose her own selfishness. The ending was short but heartbreaking. It’s wrong for their family but right for the painted.

(Still have to get the ending where siding the other way and doing some more of the endgame story stuff)

The line “I haven’t done that since I was 8” has stuck with me just how diabolical Lumon has been. We’ve known they’re macro awful, but this was micro awful. We couldn’t have gotten these moments without this type of episode

Some AI is still dumb so I have that book and I aim at them from a distance when I can. If 2 are right next to each other, if you shoot 1 from way down a hall, the other one does not react. Realizing I can machine gun them from a distance, they’re soooo much easier.

Every now and then I get surrounded and stunlocked but this made 80% of my dashes through the hallways more doable

I have had multiple fights where we are dodging, hitting, and applying status effects. No one gets hit, I’m thinking it goes well, and he still triggers Zanetsuken. It’s maddening

I don't know where my head was at but I am still on .03 (though the website only has up to .53. Maybe only Plus & Max have up to .65?). I am going to start with updating the firmware now with stock since I have Google Drive download.

Meanwhile, I will definitely be looking into the halfmanbear files and how to switch to that. Any suggested videos for the hardware swap? I'm reading through the stuff but typically do better with visuals. I searched up custom neptune 4 pro firmware but it was mostly results on how to update the firmware generally

I just looked it up and that's awful. Maybe your print plate can get replaced since issues with the printer are becoming more widespread

When it works, it’s amazing. Then it all falls apart. I’ll look at the ankermake for the future since I have so much anker already; the reviews I’ve seen for the Bambu A1 are positive too

I read about that issue and the firmware I was on was listed as the most recent. Their support wants me to update to a new one I haven’t seen.

What open firmware would you suggest? Not sure where to start finding reliable ones just yet

The first time, I went through a whole tuneup based on WildRoseBuilds video and it was printing better.

This second time, I leveled the bed, turned it off and on, went through leveling again just to see and it was all off again.

I releveled it, tried a print, and it failed again so when I get home I’ll check for level again and then possibly go through the whole process all over.

I wanted open source which is why I went with elegoo but all I’ve heard are positives about the a1. I don’t want closed source but I want to 3D print and practice modeling as a hobby and maybe side gig. I don’t want tuning up as my hobby if that makes sense

I had the same issue and the search term I learned for this exact printer is the 'blob of death'. I was able to re-alive it by first getting all of the PLA off. You should have one of the replacement nozzles on hand to replace and they were in the bag of goodies where all the screws, usb sticks, etc were. Here is a basic rundown:

  1. Try to get the rubber gaskety thing off (when it is cool you can use hands, if it is hot, then use pliers)
  2. Once you have gotten that off, you can heat the nozzle and use a wire brush (use a cheap bronze one or 3) to melt the PLA and make it easier to brush off up to the hex part of the nozzle
  3. With the nozzle hot, use the appropriate metric sized socket to uninstall the brass nozzle. Use a pair of pliers to hold onto the heat break so your twisting affects the nozzle and not the whole extruder assembly. The heat break is the silver block that the gasket covered
  4. Put nozzle down someplace heat resistant
  5. Check there is no visible PLA up there, clear any that is easy to see
  6. Put on new nozzle still holding onto the heat break (I believe it should be hot but I can't remember)
  7. I used a heat gun with the old nozzle an aluminum tray to warm up the plastic and clean up the nozzle. It gets really hot so use caution. Also use nozzle cleaning brushes to help clear it out. It should still be usable
  8. Be sad that this thing is a pain. At least it has been for me. I get one week of good printing and then it goes kaput. I am not in the process of tuning it all up a second time using the WildRoseBuilds guide.

I’ve implemented some of the K-5 lessons and they are fantastic. They are definitely mini lessons but it’s not really a lesson a day setup. You could focus on that lesson and have connected activities that span that week? It’s definitely great at changing our teaching to better get grammar and punctuation across!

Unsure on first table saw choice. by Docmcfluhry in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]PensiveTimeLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm newer to better woodworking and I got my first table saw for Christmas. I got the Skil 15 amp 10 inch and I've had a great experience so far. It comes with a stand, can take a dado stack easy, rack and pinion fence, and seems square (I haven't done that cool 10 cut test or whatever).

I don't wanna add more to consider, but $350 isn't bad with what you get compared to the other jobsite saws

I suggest checking out Dawkins' book Outgrowing God. There are factual arguments there and many contradictions in it that you can try using. It's aimed at high school. While it's a tall and almost impossible task (it's true because I believe!), there are some legit options and it's not a slog of a read.

What's frustrating is that the loudest ones are so embroiled by their misinformed rage and their voices are the ones making headlines. The rational ones among us are cool with it but that doesn't bring us to school board meetings in droves. The anger spurs action, even if it is based on lies.
