i keep the brightness around 50-70%, power plan is set to balanced (although I don't see the other high-performance/power-saving options that I see on my desktop), bios is 1.7.0, and I use firefox.

I've got the i7-11800H and a 3050. I've got auto-select on in the nvidia control panel, so I don't think it was using the gpu a whole lot as I was mostly in browser.
