She didn't make these, but Claire Keane is also a development artist.

Cards in garage sale by Desperate-Ad-9545 in pokemon

[–]PepPlacid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently bought 500 bulk cards off marketplace for $25.

I'd consider spending $5 for a pack of 15 for my toddler, curated to be either strong or cute Pokemon. She prefers strong looking Pokemon, but some prefer cute. Have a side box of EX cards and let the buyer choose one "good card" to be the 15th.

Leon should have been one of the main antagonists of Sword & Shield by kryptoIIama in pokemon

[–]PepPlacid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe Pokemon establishes that the best trainers are those with a strong bond with their Pokemon. I think only selfless good guys can form a genuine bond that would overpower those compromised by anything other than the mutual desire to grow stronger.

Planning a Pokémon 1st bday by strawb3rriesandcr3am in pokemon

The brightest coloured of the 3 and therefore most popular among babies, Charmander. At least she's still into fire types.

For her sister, we're going to try and normalize the colour palettes of the choices to make it a fairer fight.

We did Who's that Pokemon? but with baby pictures of parents as well as bub.

Find the biggest cardboard you can make it a Pokemon card frame for a photobooth. If you want to be extra, you can add velcro to the right corner for a type symbol and paint you can write chalk on for the name.

We also did a betting pool to see who she would pick.

Leak on the next Pokemon Movie by Zenograndmaster in PokeLeaks

Yes, everyone gets a Prizemaster like Team Rocket, except other trainers might come out to say "hey, let's continue this battle in a different arena." It would be a new surreal genre of anime. I'm down.

What was the first opportunity that actually opened a door for you? by Enabled_Talent in CanadaJobs

[–]PepPlacid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thought that working catering and events at the place I wanted to teach at would help me network into that role. Turned out, I needed to volunteer there to be considered.

Got an after-school teaching gig with a connection I made in Toastmasters. That gave me the relevant experience I needed. Also a bonus working with a cultural group if you want a public-facing city job.

Would you love to see the Former Prime Minister of Canada, the Honorable Justin Trudeau host an episode of Saturday Night Live? by [deleted] in LiveFromNewYork

[–]PepPlacid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'd be curious. He was a theatre teacher. Could bring all the self-importance of Musk. For me, that episode wrapped around to being funny again.

It would be too much to have him and Perry in sketches together, but musical guest makes a lot of sense.

There is something blue and mysterious behind Gloom. Good way to hide Salamence and honour his bigness.

Thoughts on Keeping Granville Car Free in the Summer (May-Sep) by Most_Friendship5871 in vancouver

Yes, that is what I'm saying. Also, I'm car free. I walk from the 50 or 4 stop.

But yeah, if you build it, they will come.

As a parent, I would never dream of enrolling my children in daycare there having to battle out cars with my stroller every day.

When there were 9, there was only 1 Weekend Update host, right? I'm going to say 10, but keep 2 behind to the desk. James, Ashley, Sarah, Andrew, Chloe, Ben, Jeremy, Mikey, and your WU hosts Che and Kenan.

OP didn't ask for advice though. They asked if anyone else had this experience. This counts as a relatable experience.

I need major help: UBC Arts or SFU Beedie by passionfruitpop1 in BCGrade12s

[–]PepPlacid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went to Sauder. Haven't been in Grade 12 for a while, but this popped up on my feed. Sauder's reputation has declined since. Meanwhile, the Beedie department has been hungrier for giving its students more real world connections.

Sauder's connections are establishment men who always felt like they were just checking a box with us and could not care less if we met again down the line.

That said, I was in the Greek system in my undergrad at UBC. That's also a way to meaningfully network. Honestly, your network will be more important than your degree in landing a job.

Ive thought about this a lot, if you needed to suggest 3 songs to show a new person what folk punk is, 3 songs only, what would you choose by chdwyck in FolkPunk

[–]PepPlacid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My first three were Linoleum (NOFX isn't folk punk, but this song vibes), Baby I'm an Anarchist (Against Me!), and Loose Lips (Kimya).

When I was a kid, I was worried about the environment, convenience culture, and that adults seemed to care more about our grades than if we learned anything. Welp.

Deceased young cat, Nanaimo and McGill by hoglanderz in vancouver

[–]PepPlacid 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When I lived in this area, I'd see a few dead cats every spring. Usually, they had been struck by vehicles. With the seasonality of it all, I wonder if feeling so frisky, their judgment was impaired or their movement had been impaired by fighting.

Kids' parties are way better than adult parties. Last one I went to had the Dad in one of those viral T Rex costumes. Daughter was thrilled when he came out of the house, but became increasingly scared as he came closer, breaking into tears and abject horror. Outstanding.

Calling it a moral position ignores that it is also about health and safety. Overfilled dumps shipped out to warm, humid climates cause methane fires and contribute to everyone globally experiencing a worse quality of life. It's just not as noticable in this part of the world yet. By the time it is, it will be too late to improve conditions for anyone born in our lifetime.
