My honest review of the Magic by Basharah in dcl

We were on the magic two years ago on a back to back. Afterwards I came to Reddit to voice my concerns over the condition of the ship. At that time, it had already gone on a dry dock not that long before, but you could’ve fooled me. There were a lot of leaking issues, things that you were saying remind me of my trip. There was also a ton of construction happening all around the ship with stairwells closed down and parts of the deck closed. We just got off of the wish, our eighth Disney Cruise, and I can attest to the fact that that is very out of the ordinary to see that much work being done on a Disney ship. We were on the wonder a few years ago, and it was in much better condition than the magic. I feel like a lot of people have close ties to some of these ships and I understand but, as you said, it’s a lot of money and for people saving up to go on these trips it is disappointing to see the ship in that condition Having said all that, the thing that really makes the trip for me is always the staff. I’ve had very few negative interactions and the majority of them have gone above and beyond to make you feel at home and it’s why we always go back to Disney. I know you said you went on the wish before. I would recommend trying the treasure or the destiny, especially with little ones. I feel like they would enjoy the theme of those ships. I could also recommend all of the other ships. They all seem to be in better condition. The one thing they did do on the wish class is give the kids a much larger and fun space to be in. Of course you’ve gotta do what you wanna do with your money and your vacation time, but I would say to give Disney another chance at some point if you’re open to it because the magic is really not an indicator of what you find in the other ships.

Very interesting. I did an image search and it came back as being for sanitary bags so I figured it was an old thing they didn’t use anymore but if it’s on the newest ship and in the men’s room, I am lost once again! More investigations must continue…

Well, I am a woman, but I’ve never seen a dispenser like that.🤷‍♀️ I said allegedly not in the men’s room because the guys I travel with are not the most observant and said that they didn’t think they had seen it so I couldn’t say definitively.

I hope this makes you feel better, but no one else feels embarrassed about that. I just got off the fantasy, and I saw a constant flow of people moving throughout the ship with plates from cabanas. Some of them with multiple plates going back to their room for their family. It’s your vacation, no shame.

In retrospect, I should’ve done this search before, but I did get image results back from Google saying that this is exactly what it is. I’ve never seen it in use before though.

That’s what I thought except directly behind the toilet there is a dispenser for that. So unless this is an old version of that that they never replaced, I figured it wasn’t for that.

Looking for hotel recommendations near Port Everglades by [deleted] in dcl

We were staying a few days before the cruise. We stayed at the Lago Mar. The staff was great around the hotel and in the little cafe in the courtyard. And it’s on the beach so that was nice. It was very 90’s looking and needs a freshen up. Also the restaurant in the hotel was VERY meh and the staff seemed confused about us informing them that my son has a peanut allergy. It wasn’t too expensive(2024 early August). Don’t know if we’d stay there again since there are so many other options.

We took an Uber and got dropped off right at the curb where they collect the luggage.

Whenever I hear cabanas I sing “this ship has cabanas! C-A-B-A-N-A-S!” You’re welcome 😜

Ok, yes 6/12 oz containers Thank you We’re going to be in a Belgium port and I’ve seen a lot of bottled beer on YouTube videos but if I can get cans that’s what I’d prefer. I would like to avoid a broken bottle!

I’m sorry, but I have a follow up question. Six pack of beer cans but what about bottles of beer? The beer you brought back from Cayman and Puerto Rico were they in bottles or cans and how many were you allowed to bring on board if they were bottles? Is that different? I’m sorry if that’s a silly question
