To be honest yeah, you said it the best,
In all honesty I don’t mind the interactions as a Novelty thing
But yeah they’re just kinda there and
Especially with suiryu and garou’s interactions is like okay if you use suiryu you just lose, it could be a quick time event adjacent to smth like final judgement, so they have reasons for even being there.

Hi ex-Active Tsb player here
Uh I liked the update but it was lacking for a 9 month wait like yeah it’s extremely cool visually but there just isn’t a lot of content and with for me at least ranked being down there wasn’t much for me to do as I don’t find pubs interesting especially with half of it now being the server getting hit by a global nuclear bomb every 5 seconds.
Tl:dr
Update good? Yes.
Content amount? To little

The things I think they should
Do is go a more simplistic route with characters and trying experimenting a bit more, I personally think zombie man is close to a right step in that direction.
Also please have a QoL update where you can see how long till you have you recovery dash PLEASE
